Today, Iron Bonehead Productions announces November 19th as the international release date for Tyrannic‘s highly anticipated second album, Mortuus Decadence, on vinyl LP format. The CD version will be released by Seance Records.
Since their formation in 2010, Australia’s Tyrannic have been a steady study in sonic defiance. The band’s earliest demo and split recordings were largely the work of one R, but by the time of their debut album, 2018’s Ethereal Sepulchre, Tyrannic expanded their lineup and also expounded upon the primitivist origins of their sound. Aptly titled, Ethereal Sepulchre was a foggy ‘n’ frightening statement of eerie blackened doom – or perhaps DOOMED BLACK? Either way, the trio tread upon the slimy foundation laid out by their forebears but also evinced a red-eyed personality all their own.
Alas, that identity has fully come to fruition with Tyrannic‘s second album, Mortuus Decadence. Both more immediate and distant than its not-inconsiderable predecessor, A LOT happens across Mortuus Decadence, with each of the five principal tracks taking treacherous turns and demonic detours throughout the album’s 43-minute runtime. Truly, the sum effect is unsettling; the reconfigured trio unleash endlessly rolling/roiling screeds of physicality that mutate in a most bizarre manner. Both denominations of “black” and “doom” are still apropros here, but the seemingly scattershot attack Tyrannic take strikes upon the wild & weird terrain trod by the likes of old Mortuary Drape, Root, Hungary’s Tormentor, Barathrum, Brazilian iconoclasts like Impurity and Sextrash, or even very earliest Mayhem. Still, it cannot be overstated that there’s indeed order here – except that it’s cracked and broken and betraying a woozy wisdom only known to Tyrannic.
Wrapped in a sweltering, megaton production most Hellhammered, Mortuus Decadence is a declaration of diabolism that puts Tyrannic in rarefied company.

Today, uprising black metal classicists Fustilarian premiere the new track “The Vacant Dispirit” . The track is the second to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated debut album, All This Promiscuous Decadence, set for international release on September 15th via Amor Fati Productions on CD format; the vinyl LP version shall follow early next year. Hear Fustilarian‘s “The Vacant Dispirit” in its entirety here:
A mysterious new entity, Fustilarian is the work of one man inspired by the dark vision over human decay, his unnatural world, and the decadence of urban dysphoria. The entity’s first public work, All This Promiscuous Decadence comprises eight songs in 43 minutes, bearing an aspect both timeless and palpably modern. Its black metal is undeniably rooted in more traditional Satanic tropes of the ’90s, but a subtle or at least underlying layer of the next millennium’s introspective BM plays a no-less-vital role.
What results across All This Promiscuous Decadence is a firestorm of molten, muscular surge and almost coolly cruising violence. This dichotomy pays dividends, as Fustilarian drags the listener through catacombs of the self and subconscious, each haunting & hysteric turn as treacherous as the last. The ever-present violence is thusly directed inward as it is outward, furthering that totality which again seems almost effortless for this entity, its confidence bespeaking bottomless depths of darkness in a perverse twist of fate. But, with a stand-to-attention title like All This Promiscuous Decadence, perhaps such perversity shouldn’t be surprising at all…
Girded in a powerfully professional production that renders these virulent visions in shocking 3D, All This Promiscuous Decadence firmly puts Fustilarian in esteemed company, from the classic mid/late ’90s melodic black metal vanguard to the orthodox/spiritual black metal movement it would engender during the first decade of the 2000s.

MODERN RITES‘ debut “Monuments“, a powerful collaboration between artists Berg (AARA) and Jonny (KUYASHII), is officially released by Debemur Morti Productions today. With its eerie and cold atmosphere located between TRYPTIKON‘s heaviness and PRONG‘s finesse, the album portrays a unique feeling of loss, isolation, and estrangement.
Mastermind Jonny narrates in an interview with Rock Hard Italy about the musicians’ collaboration:
„Even though we started MODERN RITES with a particular sound and inspiration in mind, it did not stop us from finding inspiration in unexpected places. You can probably hear aspects of our separate projects in MODERN RITES, but with a more focused sound. Having another ear to bounce ideas off of has definitely aided in this as we both had musical goals we wanted to accomplish and try outside of our other projects. In a sense, it was a testing ground to overcome musical firsts such as me doing vocals or him writing to fully fleshed out, and oftentimes meandering, bass tracks. All this is to say that MODERN RITES is original and unique to us and our personal growth as musicians.“
“Monuments” can now be streamed on YouTube as well as Bandcamp and can be ordered on CD, vinyl, and digitally via the label’s EU, US, and Bandcamp shops:
MODERN RITES‘ monolithic fusion between dark Industrial music and melodic Black Metal already received high praise from the press:
“The created tension in MODERN RITES‘ music stems from the duet of emotionally heavy riffing and distorted bass lines. […] A well-crafted debut!” (Legacy Magazine)
“This album is impressive in its intensity. “Monuments” is an appropriate title.” (Ave Noctum)
“With spectacular performances all around, “Monuments” is a winner and one that I think I’ll be coming back to very soon for more atmospheric black metal magic.” (Two Guys Metal Reviews)
MODERN RITES is an Industrial-rooted, melodic Black Metal duo founded in Autumn 2020 by guitarist Berg of Swiss Atmospheric Black Metal band AARA and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/visual artist Jonny Warren of US Experimental Metal band KUYASHII.
Born out of experimentation and a mutual respect for each other’s craft, the pair began trading tracks across borders with the goal of creating a unique sound which would transcend cultural barriers. At the core of MODERN RITES is Jonny’s heavily distorted bass sound inspired by dark Industrial music of the ’90s. The diverging, stereo bass paths create a desolate landscape in which Berg’s guitars are free to open portals into dark atmospheres.
Exploring the bleaker aspects of the human condition, lyrical themes dive into psychology, isolation, conflict, and the ever-evolving shadow self.
Impressed by MODERN RITES’ quality and originality, Debemur Morti Productions will imminently release “Monuments“, a debut album which sets a vast, winding aural path for further experimentation to come.
Today, legendary Devil Metallers Nunslaughter reveal the new video “Beware of God.” The track is the third video to be revealed from the band’s long-awaited fifth studio album, Red is the Color of Ripping Death, released today by Hells Headbangers. See & hear Nunslaughter‘s brand-new video for “Beware of God here:
Nunslaughter require no introduction. Since 1987, these Ohio natives have prolifically perfected their own brand of Devil Metal: an evil blend of classic death metal and hardcore punk. And by “prolifically,” Nunslaughter are likewise serious; their catalog of records released rivals that of Japan’s Sabbat and Agathocles, both of whom the band have done splits with. Through it all, Hells Headbangers have been diehard fans, and have released countless Nunslaughter records going all the way back to the label’s earliest days in 2003.
And while Nunslaughter are largely renown for being an EP band, any chance to welcome a new full-length from them is cause for (devil metallish) celebration: at long last, Red is the Color of Ripping Death, the band’s first album in seven years. Many are still mourning the loss of legendary drummer Jim Sadist (RIP), and while Red is the Color of Ripping Death is their first full-length without him playing on it, some of the 14 songs contained herein are unfinished / unrealized music that Jim and founding frontman Don of the Dead wrote years ago. Just as importantly, this album comprises material newly written with Nunslaughter‘s current lineup, which is arguably the band’s best to date. And hearing is believing: over the course of the album’s 35 minutes, it becomes immediately apparent that Nunslaughter are a really good – and really ripping – DEATH METAL band above all. Largely gone (or least sublimated) is the hardcore punk influence, and in its place is an absolutely furious onslaught of catchiness and causticness. Armed with the best-sounding production on a Nunslaughter record ever as well as Don of the Dead reaching new heights/depths of maniacal perversity, Red is the Color Ripping Death truly brings the band to a different level of Devil Metal.
“As Sadist says, RED IS THE COLOR OF RIPPING DEATH!!” Long live Jim Sadist, and long live Nunslaughter!

Consisting of four Black Metal veterans, DOEDSVANGR return after seven years of silence to give birth to their second album “Serpents Ov Old“. NORDJEVEL‘s Doedsadmiral (vocals), SARGEIST‘s Shatraug (guitars, bass), THE ORDER OF APOLLYON‘s BST (guitars) as well as ex-TSJUDER‘s AntiChristian (drums), blend the sound of different Black Metal traditions together and unleash a swaggering, hedonistic blaze of hard-rocking fuck-the-world malevolence.
“Serpents Ov Old” consists of the following songs:
01. Serpents Ov Old 02. As The Rivers Bleed Their Blessings 03. Flagelist 04. Imperialis 05. White Finger 06. Black Dragon Phoenix 07. Carrier Of Heads 08. The Salt Marsh 09. Poisonous Tides
Guest vocals on “Flagelist” by Nag (TSUJDER) and on both “Imperialis” + “Black Dragon Phoenix” by Vicotnik (DØDHEIMSGARD).
Limited CD and vinyl versions both feature a bonus cover track, “Pile Driver“, from cult Canadian Thrash Metal band PILEDRIVER.
Guitarist BST handled the recording of guitars and bass as well as mixing and mastering in his studio in France. Additionally, drums and vocal recordings took place in Velvet Recording in Norway. The artwork for “Serpents Ov Old” was created by Khaos Diktator Design (CULTUS PROFANO).
‘As The Rivers Bleed Their Blessings‘, the first track DOEDSVANGR unveil, is characterized by a violent wall of sound consisting of grim vocals, powerful bass lines as well as thundering drumbeats. Listen to this traditional Black Metal beast below:
Guitarist BST comments on the creation of “Serpents Ov Old“:
“The way this entire album is built can be seen as rather unconventional. The drums were recorded first with absolutely no other music written, meaning the skeleton of the track was conceived on drums only. These drum parts had a special groove to them, which left some room for atmosphere, and from there on, the song writing was very spontaneous and instinctive. I was simply following the inspiration these drum patterns were giving, without thinking too much about it. In general, I do not want to intellectualize the writing process too much. It needs to be visceral. Another peculiar thing about the way this album was built is that it was all made remotely. The pandemic was at its peak, so we did not meet, rehearse together, or even really talk too much about how things were supposed to sound. I wrote the music for ‘As The Rivers Bleed Their Blessings‘ isolated, within my own studio, which actually was both comfortable and inspiring to me.“
“Serpents Ov Old” will be released on CD, vinyl, and digitally via Debemur Morti Productions on October 29th. Pre-orders will start on September 6th.
DOEDSVANGR was founded in 2014 by Doedsadmiral with the specific intention of expressing raw brutality through music. He set the bar high when it came to his wish-list of people to work with, and in no time TSJUDER’sAntiChristian joined on drums, later to be joined by the infamous Shatraug (SARGEIST), thereby fulfilling Doedsadimral’s vision. The name DOEDSVANGR itself has two different meanings, and can mean both “fields of death” and “dead womb”.
In 2015 DOEDSVANGR signed a contract with Immortal Frost Productions and the band’s 2017 debut album, “Satan Ov Suns”, proved to be the perfect blend of Black Metal from Finland and Norway.
In 2019, BST (THE ORDER OF APOLLYON, ex-AOSOTH) joined DOEDSVANGR on guitar, and work commenced on the follow up album. Having inked a deal with Debemur Morti Productions, the new album, titled “Serpents Ov Old”, is set for release in late 2021.
DOEDSVANGR also signed with the booking agency Flaming Arts so that the band could progress to becoming a live entity.
The Belgian blackened death metal stalwarts of GOAT TORMENT are now releasing the crushing first new song of their upcoming full length ‘Forked Tongues’! The new offering will be released upon the masses on October 29, 2021 and the title track can already be heard here:
GOAT TORMENT comments on the track: “Here is our first single and also the title track from our 3rd upcoming album “Forked Tongues.” This song is an example of what the album is about and what we are representing. Crushing, straightforward and no nonsense. New portals were opened in every aspect to shape the evolution of the band and together with our sound engineer, Jérémie Bézier, we got what we were aiming for!“
GOAT TORMENT are furthermore unveiling the cover and track list of ‘Forked Tongues’. The cover, which was created by Olivier Lomer (EMPTINESS), can be found below.
The black metal crusaders in GOAT TORMENT return with ‘Forked Tongues,’ their first new album/release in over 6 years. A blast furnace of primal satanic fury, delivering a savage onslaught!
GOAT TORMENT was formed in 2008 by Kwel and K.J. with the intention to create music as a weapon of mass destruction and to annihilate everything which the so-called society stands for. For a start Kwel was supposed to play bass and K.J. would handle the vocals. But they didn’t find a guitarist who fitted with the ideology on a serious level. Thus Kwel decided to handle all the guitar parts and K.J.. started to play bass. After some months of research, the band recruited drummer Perversor. Then the band released a 4-track demo tape, released in 2009 through Terrorghoul Productions from Austria. The reactions were tremendous and bigger labels contacted the band interested to release the future offerings of GOAT TORMENT.
At this point, the band shared stages all over Europe with bands such as Grave Miasma, Hell Militia, Enthroned, Black Crucifixion, Black Witchery, The Devil’s blood…to name but a few. At the beginning of 2010 GOAT TORMENT had to part ways with drummer Perversor due to musical differences. During the early days of April 2010 a new burning entity was found: S. claimed the throne behind the battery. The Death wielding Trinity of GOAT TORMENT was complete. New songs were written, gigs were played and blood was shed.
Exactly one year later, the band entered the infamous Blackout Studio in Brussels (BE) to record some tracks for two upcoming releases: A 7” split EP with The Beast which was released at the beginning of 2012 and later that year another 7” EP , called “Into The Mouth of the Serpent”. Directly after the split EP was released, Kwel an S. decided to part ways with K.J.. due to different views about their future. In that moment GT decided to go on as a duet recruiting session members for live-shows.
The band returned to Blackout Studio in the fall of 2012 to record their first full-length album ‘Dominande Tenebrae’ ,which was released in February 2013 by Amor Fati Productions from Germany. After a year of a few European shows, the band had their first live appearance on American soil (Maryland Deathfest XII). The band had plans to go on as a four piece, but that didn’t work out because of different views. A South American tour was planned for August 2014 with the Belgian maniacs of ENTHRONED, but the two bands were forced to cancel one month before due to the irresponsible promoter.
In September 2014, S. decided to leave the band, due to other personal priorities and having no time anymore for drumming. It didn’t take long for Kwel to find somebody to take over the hammers. A new era began and Torturer (Mor Dagor, Bethlehem, ex-Belphegor) joined GOAT TORMENT as a new full member, so the duo was complete again. The band returned to Blackout Multimedia Studio in the beginning of 2015 to record their second full-length album.
In the summer of 2015, ‘Sermons To Death’ was released by Amor Fati Productions. The band toured the US West Coast in October 2015, accompanied by Saroth and Vagus Nox as live members. Shortly after, Vagus Nox joined forces to write new material. At the end of 2020, the third studio album ‘Forked Tongues’ had been completed.
The new offering delivers ultraheavy darkening passages that only serve to temper the relentless blasting speed. ‘Forked Tongues’ is musical punishment writ large, and sounds as if forged in the crucible of hell!
Texan black metal battalion NECROFIER are now unleashing the second track of their upcoming debut record ‘Prophecies of Eternal Darkness’. The ominous new single “Madness Descends”, which was created by Dwayne Cathey, is now streaming in the form of an official music video here:
The cover artwork for ‘Prophecies of Eternal Darkness’ is created by Burney and can be found below along with the track-list.
Track-list: 1. The Black Flame Burns (WATCH) 2. Darker than the night 3. Madness Descends (WATCH) 4. Return to Chaos 5. Death Comes to Us All 6. Unholy Hunger 7. Betrayal of the Queen 8. Plaque Requiem Total: 34:32
The rise of American black metal is a cult movement whose vast influence and growth cannot be ignored. Houston’s NECROFIER carries this torch, embodying the hallmarks of melodic black metal while embracing their Texas roots, delivering what can only be described as total Southern darkness as they bridge the divide between true Norwegian black metal and American gothic.
In the fall of 2018, fate coalesced when vocalist/guitarist Bakka Larson (VENOMOUS MAXIMUS, NIGHT COBRA) saw an open call on social media from drummer Dobber Beverly (OCEANS OF SLUMBER, INSECT WARFARE) who was looking to work on a traditional heavy metal project. Larson had already been working on black metal songs as an outlet to explore the themes of the supernatural and unknown and exploring this darkness, so he jumped on the opportunity and quickly reached out. The two immediately connected over their shared passion to create dark, old school music in which they could inject their Southern flair.
The duo eventually recruited Beverly’s OCEANS OF SLUMBER counterpart and bassist Mat Valentine and soon wrote and released a debut EP, ‘Visions in Fire,’ which channeled the spirit of late-era DISSECTION, WATAIN, CLOAK, and TRIBULATION while staying true to their own homegrown sensibilities.
Not long after the EP release, the band scored an opening slot with UADA. Needing a second guitarist to fill out the sound, Josh Bokemeyer (CHURCH OF DISGUST) was eventually tapped to fill that role, completing the band’s inception. The four-piece later released a music video for the EP title track and went on to perform with a vast array of their black metal brethren such as 1349, Goatwhore, and Cloak, including an appearance at a coveted SXSW showcase. Now, the band is emerging from the darkness of 2021, ready to fan the unholy flames and finally release their devastating debut full-length, ‘Prophecies of Eternal Darkness.’
Today, Invictus Productions announces October 1st as the international release date for Tempter’s Sacrament‘s striking debut EP, Temptation Steel Scourge, on cassette tape formats. The CD and 12″ vinyl versions will follow next year.
Hailing from New Jersey and formed in early 2020, Tempter’s Sacrament are a band seemingly custom-made for the barbed-wire sensibilities of Invictus. The band are a duo of Hades Tempter – guitar, bass, and vocals, as well as all songwriting – and Infernal Deceiver – drums and effects, and a member of Nihil Verum Nisi Mors collective – and together, they’ve erected a neutron hammer of scuzzy black/death METAL. No quarter, no compromise, Tempter’s Sacrament stand for merciless defiance in the face of weakening/weekend “metal” shat out in the social media era.
The duo made their recorded debut with the demo Putrid Triumph last fall, and now return a year later with the longer and stronger Temptation Steel Scourge. Indeed, Temptation Steel Scourge is fucking perfectly titled, as Tempter’s Sacrament reap the whirlwind of the old gods and smite those who’d dilute the essence of true, ancient death metal and its blacker variant. Mind-melted solos fly fast and free, battery bends and bruises at insane speeds, vokills summoned from sulfurous pits, and absolute RIFFS scythe and slice with cruel precision – there’s no escaping this Temptation Steel Scourge!
References to be made include Invictus alumni like Vomitor, Apocalypse Command, Slutvomit, and Beastiality as well as the almighty Slaughter Lord, but with a full-length already in the works, Tempter’s Sacrament are well on their way in asserting a Christ-crushing identity all their own. In the meantime, beware the Temptation Steel Scourge!

Today, Finnish black metal legends Azazel premiere the new track “Jesus Christ Impotent Rotting Saviour” . The track is the second to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated third album, Aegrus Satanas Tecum, set for international release on September 24th via Primitive Reaction. Hear Azazel‘s “Jesus Christ Impotent Rotting Saviour” in its entirety here:
Formed in that fateful year of 1992, Azazel are among the first black metal bands to hail from Finland – and undoubtedly, one of the most cult. The band released a demo in 1993 and a mini-album in ’96, but then receded into the shadows and misery for many years. Following a split album in 2011, however, the black flame of Azazel was burning brightly once again, resulting in the full-lengths Jesus Perversions (2012) and Witches Deny Holy Trinity (2015). And while it would seem that the shadows of misery ensnared the band again, some demons never die…
Now, at long last, those shadows recede and reveal Azazel‘s long-awaited third album, Aegrus Satanas Tecum. Immediately and righteously recognizable as Azazel, Aegrus Satanas Tecum is a unique record in that it bridges all the band’s eras whilst opening new portals into the black beyond. Here, one will find the near-bestial filth & fury of Jesus Perversions alongside the more haunting and even stately sensations of Witches Deny Holy Trinity. But, like anything in Azazel‘s wild & weird world, ramshackle insanity runs riot – and often – and thus is a variety of songcraft employed to mangle the mind and ruin the spirit. And yet, the finesse with which Azazel accomplish this, playing something “primitive” but in clear & cutting fashion (and vice versa), bespeaks some strange magick on the band’s part and lends even more staying power to their ever-uncompromising sound. Above all, Aegrus Satanas Tecum is an album that’s equally early ’90s as it is NOW: Azazel are more undead than ever.
“Accomplished”? Perhaps? Ancient? Always. Azazel may be predictably unpredictable, but Aegrus Satanas Tecum proves that their twisting saga is far from over…

Today, Chaos Records releases Feculent‘s striking debut EP, The Grotesque Arena, on CD format.
Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Feculent are death metal bastard conjurers, and The Grotesque Arena is their first public recording. The band comprises a wretched coalition of already highly acclaimed musicians, featuring current members of Shackles, Snorlax, Resin Tomb, Descent, Siberian Hell Sounds, and Idle Ruin. A blended infection of rotten amygdalic death-doom and perverted blasts of vacuumus void, The Grotesque Arena is an unyielding hammer of cavernous hate cast upon an already butchered mind.
