ARCHGOAT – first song unveiled

As a first taste of the coming album “Worship The Eternal Darkness“, Black Metal band ARCHGOAT and Debemur Morti Productions proudly unleash the first song ‘Heavens Ablaze‘. The new composition highlights the angelslaying trademarks of the Finnish horde while simultaneously avoiding stagnancy. Stomping drums, buzzing guitars and blasphemous screams/grunts are potently interwoven with Doom passages as well as subtle melodies and cutting lead guitars. ‘Heavens Ablaze‘ is a versatile hymn to the eternal darkness.

Listen to it now :

ARCHGOAT molded their patented synthesis of occult Finnish Black/Death Metal, harsh Punk, primal Thrash and Grindcore into ten captivating and blasphemous hymns:

01. Intro
02. Heavens Ablaze
03. Black Womb Gnosis
04. All Christianity Ends
05. In Extremis Nazarene
06. Rats Pray God
07. Empyrean Armageddon
08. Blessed In The Light Of Lucifer
09. Worship The Eternal Darkness
10. Burial Of Creation

Worship The Eternal Darkness” was recorded and sound engineered by Teemu Velin and produced by Ritual Butcherer. Legendary Chris Moyen (BEHERIT, INCANTATION) is, once again, responsible for giving visual form to ARCHGOAT‘s musical blasphemy. The layout was done by Kontamination Design, band photos by Arto Soini Photography.

Worship The Eternal Darkness” will be released on CD, tape, vinyl, and digitally on November 26th. High quality merchandise (t-shirt, long sleeves shirt, and hooded/zip sweatshirt) will accompany the album. Pre-Orders are possible via the label’s EU, US, and Bandcamp shops.

Coinciding with the album release, ARCHGOAT will embark on a headliner tour through Europe together with Norwegian act WHOREDOM RIFE and Austrian Black Metal band THEOTOXIN. The tour is organized by District 19 and will start on November 25th in Prague. All dates may be found here.

ARCHGOAT crawled from the deepest pits of hell to form in 1989, a demonic trio consisting of the brothers Ritual Butcherer and Lord Angelslayer on guitars and vocals/bass respectively, as well as Blood Desecrator on drums. After a pair of demo tapes, ARCHGOAT shook the Black Metal world in 1993 with the release of their debut EP “Angelcunt (Tales of Desecration)“, showcasing a relentless and bestial blend of Black and Death Metal. With a growing dissolution with the Black Metal scene at large, and a disagreement with their then record label Necropolis Records over the terms of their debut record, ARCHGOAT vanished from scene in late 1993.

In 2004 the gates reopened anew. ARCHGOAT returned to finally release their long-lost material the following year, and then their first official full-length, “Whore of Bethlehem“, in 2006. Since then they have released two more albums, “The Light-Devouring Darkness” in 2009 and “The Apocalyptic Triumphator” in 2015 under Debemur Morti Productions, as well as a series of splits, EPs, and compilations. Between releases they have carved out a reputation for their malevolent live rituals, storming the shores of Europe, the United States, and Mexico alongside bands such as BEHEXEN, BLACK WITCHERY, and HELL MILITIA.

2018 saw ARCHGOAT unleash their satanic opus “The Luciferian Crown“, their second full length under Debemur Morti. An ungodly black sacrament of a kind that only ARCHGOAT can craft, “The Luciferian Crown” is a testament to what Black Metal should be, bestial, unrelenting, and unholy. Black Metal changed, ARCHGOAT did not, and it is their capable hands that shall carry the black flame forward for years to come.

In 2020, the live album “Black Mass XXX” adequately captured the angelslaying chaos present during their gig in Paris in September 2019. The recorded concert was part of ARCHGOAT‘s 30-year anniversary gig series and a worthy addition to their discography. With “Worship The Eternal Darkness” (out November 2021), the Finnish Black Metal band will cement their well-earned reputation for being one of the most consistent bands the scene has ever seen. ARCHGOAT‘s fifth album is, once again, a unique synthesis of occult Finnish Black/Death Metal, harsh Punk, primal Thrash and Grindcore.

The black metal crusaders in GOAT TORMENT return with ‘Forked Tongues,’ their first new album/release in over 6 years. A blast furnace of primal satanic fury, delivering a savage onslaught!

GOAT TORMENT was formed in 2008 by Kwel and K.J. with the intention to create music as a weapon of mass destruction and to annihilate everything which the so-called society stands for. For a start Kwel was supposed to play bass and K.J. would handle the vocals. But they didn’t find a guitarist who fitted with the ideology on a serious level. Thus Kwel decided to handle all the guitar parts and K.J.. started to play bass. After some months of research, the band recruited drummer Perversor. Then the band released a 4-track demo tape, released in 2009 through Terrorghoul Productions from Austria. The reactions were tremendous and bigger labels contacted the band interested to release the future offerings of GOAT TORMENT.

At this point, the band shared stages all over Europe with bands such as Grave Miasma, Hell Militia, Enthroned, Black Crucifixion, Black Witchery, The Devil’s blood…to name but a few. At the beginning of 2010 GOAT TORMENT had to part ways with drummer Perversor due to musical differences. During the early days of April 2010 a new burning entity was found: S. claimed the throne behind the battery. The Death wielding Trinity of GOAT TORMENT was complete. New songs were written, gigs were played and blood was shed.

Exactly one year later, the band entered the infamous Blackout Studio in Brussels (BE) to record some tracks for two upcoming releases: A 7” split EP with The Beast which was released at the beginning of 2012 and later that year another 7” EP , called “Into The Mouth of the Serpent”. Directly after the split EP was released, Kwel an S. decided to part ways with K.J.. due to different views about their future. In that moment GT decided to go on as a duet recruiting session members for live-shows.

The band returned to Blackout Studio in the fall of 2012 to record their first full-length album ‘Dominande Tenebrae’ ,which was released in February 2013 by Amor Fati Productions from Germany. After a year of a few European shows, the band had their first live appearance on American soil (Maryland Deathfest XII). The band had plans to go on as a four piece, but that didn’t work out because of different views. A South American tour was planned for August 2014 with the Belgian maniacs of ENTHRONED, but the two bands were forced to cancel one month before due to the irresponsible promoter.

In September 2014, S. decided to leave the band, due to other personal priorities and having no time anymore for drumming. It didn’t take long for Kwel to find somebody to take over the hammers. A new era began and Torturer (Mor Dagor, Bethlehem, ex-Belphegor) joined GOAT TORMENT as a new full member, so the duo was complete again. The band returned to Blackout Multimedia Studio in the beginning of 2015 to record their second full-length album.

In the summer of 2015, ‘Sermons To Death’ was released by Amor Fati Productions. The band toured the US West Coast in October 2015, accompanied by Saroth and Vagus Nox as live members. Shortly after, Vagus Nox joined forces to write new material. At the end of 2020, the third studio album ‘Forked Tongues’ had been completed.

The new offering delivers ultraheavy darkening passages that only serve to temper the relentless blasting speed. ‘Forked Tongues’ is musical punishment writ large, and sounds as if forged in the crucible of hell!

DEMONIC TEMPLE set release date for new PUTRID CULT / DARK HORIZON album, reveal first track

On November 11th internationally, Putrid Cult in conspiracy with Dark Horizon are proud to present Demonic Temple‘s highly anticipated third album, Through the Stars into the Abyss.

One of the mightiest yet most-overlooked entities of the always-thriving Polish black metal scene, Demonic Temple made their public debut in 2014 with a self-titled demo. From there, the duo of vocalist/drummer N.D. and guitarist M. have created a vast soundworld that’s reverential of black metal’s ancient past but also imbues it with a boundless, ever-fiery imagination. Two full-lengths thus followed, 2017’s Chalice of Nectar Darkness and 2018’s Incrementum, both planting the name Demonic Temple firmly within the minds of the devout while also establishing the band as one of Putrid Cult‘s flagship cults. Meanwhile, as the wider world fell to plague and hysteria, a mightiest monument was being erected…

At last, three years later does it arrive bearing the title Through the Stars into the Abyss. Immediately recognizably Demonic Temple, the band’s third album bursts into being with grandiosity and ceremony, steeped in both the underworld and the cosmos above and beyond. Truly, this dichotomy – the elemental vs. the spectral, density vs. weightlessness, the tangible vs. immaterial – is worked fully and masterfully by the duo, planting forth a second-wave black metal classicism that sparkles with dazzling colors, each one more blinding and brilliant than the last but portending truth and dread at every turn. In fact, the very structure of Through the Stars into the Abyss conveys this magnitude and guides the listener effortlessly across this fearfully illuminating landscape: one scene-setting intro followed by four tracks each within the seven-to-eight-minute range, altogether making for a swift-yet-expansive 34 minutes. Not for nothing would this finessed ‘n’ focused songwriting hit so hard had Demonic Temple not wrapped the record in a production that ably conveys the duo’s live-in-the-studio physicality whilst emitting a unique sense of spaciousness. The catacombs are seemingly endless; the stars loom ominously above.

Putrid Cult and Dark Horizon are honored to co-release this modern classic from Demonic Temple. Dare to go Through the Stars into the Abyss!

VELO MISERE stream LUNAR APPARITIONS / ALTARE debut – features members of AVERSIO HUMANITATIS, PRIMIGENIUM+++

Today, uprising black metal classicists Velo Misere stream the entirety of their highly anticipated debut album, Monomanía del Inexorable Vacío. Set for international release on September 15th – Altare Productions will release the vinyl LP version while Lunar Apparitions, a division of Nebular Carcoma, will release the digipack CD version – hear Velo Misere’s Monomanía del Inexorable Vacío in its entirety here:

Featuring current and former members of such elite Spanish hordes as Aversio Humanitatis and Primigenium, Velo Misere is a conglomeration of ancient energies and uncompromising arrogance. The band released their first demo in 2017 and then an EP the following year, but Monomanía del Inexorable Vacío marks Velo Misere’s first full-length strike.

Totaling seven songs across 39 minutes, Monomanía del Inexorable Vacío sparkles into being with shimmering hysteria and ethereal dread. Velo Misere undeniably sound like an actual band here, playing with a passion and possession that’s palpably physical, and yet they equally sound like conduits for sine-waves of grim splendor and medieval misery; more often than not, sensations of levitation are invoked. Likewise, black metal is undeniably the medium for such, with much of its construction laid upon a foundation of late ‘90s-onward archetypes, but so sinuous and seamless is Velo Misere’s craft that no specific era nor geography can be gleaned with ease; it could be 1998 or 2018 for all we know, only that utter immersion is guaranteed.

Ghouls, ghosts, and garish perversions of the night all crawl from these dungeons… Velo Misere carry the torch and lead you onward into Monomanía del Inexorable Vacío.

CD cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Velo Misere’s Monomanía del Inexorable Vacío

1. Visión de la Sombra
2. Ente de Muerte

EVIL DAMN set release date for long-awaited HELLS HEADBANGERS debut album, reveal first track – features members of GOAT SEMEN+++

Today, Hells Headbangers announces October 29th as the international release date for Evil Damn‘s long-awaited debut album, Necronomicon, on CD format. The vinyl version will follow next year.

During the year when the pestilent winds of chaos begin to creep through the corners of the world and spread the harbinger of an age of hopelessness and doom over the earth heralded by choirs chanting arcane curses…an old malediction is evoked through some possessed souls of down under among high mountains and the sands of deserts…all taking form since the early years of this millenium, in the shape of some abusive and viciously grotesque and obscure form of death metal: Evil Damn.

Inspired by the old Metal of Death of a golden era when men ruled with powerful riffs, crushing drums, and assassin guitar solos alongside agonizing and obscure vocalizations, Evil Damn bring back the old pestilence of true DEATH METAL from the depths of the underground, giving form to cruel and chaotic chants of desolation and misfortune that frame lyrics inspired by the old death cult and the Lovecraftian pantheon of atrocity!

Hailing from Lima, Peru, Evil Damn was formed in the year 2004 when veteran musicians like Mario Romanet (Psicorragia), Ordep and Zemog (Disinter), and Neyra and Satyricon (Goat Semen) decided to give shape to this abomination. A few months later, they released their hailed Through Black Abysses demo, which made a big impact in their national scene. As years passed, in 2008, Evil Damn released a split CD with Japan’s Abigail and, more years later, in 2014, a well-received 7″ EP, Black Effigy, through Hells Headbangers.

Some years in sepulchral silence passed as Evil Damn started to compose the damnations which now comprise their LONG-awaited debut album, Necronomicon. Conceived during the last years previous to the worldwide pest and finally committed to studio tape during 2019 and 2020, Necronomicon introduces promising drum-crusher D. Porturas, and the band around him duly deliver a riot of violence that can only come from Peru. This is 100% uncut South American madness, rendered in robustly clear-yet-crushing form: brutality, darkness, and chaos colliding head-on and drowning the listener in an epic descent of diabolical evil. Not for nothing are they monikered Evil Damn, and Necronomicon proves, without a doubt, that whether this album was delivered in 1991 or 2021, evil metal will ALWAYS be eternal!

The soundtrack to the process of extinction of the human species has arrived – Evil Damn‘s Necronomicon!

Hear the first sounds of that soundtrack with the brand-new track “The Curse” here:

MORBIFIC sign with MEMENTO MORI, prepare new album

In their endless quest to push and support current underground acts that perpetuate the odor of vintage death metal, Memento Mori are extremely thrilled to announce a new signing: Morbific, from Finland.

Morbific is a rotten-to-the-core death metal trio deformed in the filthy and profaned boneyard of Kitee in early 2020, featuring Olli (guitar), Jusa (vocals / bass), and Onni (drums). The band’s Pestilent Hordes demo was unleashed in the summer of 2020, and it rapidly gained them some following amongst the finest gourmets of the variety of festering, moldering and disgusting death metal that’s malignantly influenced by Autopsy, Rottrevore, Deteriorot, Mortician, Grave, Maimed, Undergang, Impetigo, Convulse, and ancient Finnish masters of death and decay, such as Funebre and Disgrace. Shortly after, in the spring of 2021, the debut full-length, titled Ominous Seep of Putridity, saw the odious light of day to unanimous praise by both the fans and the media. Now it’s time to ooze some more pus again, and make the second abscess an even more sickening ordeal to experience than any other before…

Morbific‘s sophomore full-length is due out in late 2022. Memento Mori will release the CD version, Me Saco Un Ojo Records will take care of the LP and digital versions, and Headsplit Records will put out the tape version. Further details to follow in the coming months. For more info, consult the links below.

DEBER set release date for PERSONAL RECORDS debut, reveal first track – features members of ONDSKAPT, ANGUISH, AVSKY+++

On November 5th internationally, Personal Records is proud to present Deber‘s striking debut album, Aspire to Affliction. A new, up-and-coming funeral doom band, with the signing of Deber does Personal Records state with this release that it is more than a genre-oriented label: it is a 100% music-oriented one and releases what it likes – Personal stuff, Personal tastes.

Hailing from Sweden, Deber are a funeral doom metal band consisting of two members from high-profile bands: DIE (Anguish, Ondskapt) and HCF (Avksy, Acolytes of Moros). They formed in 2020 when the pandemic broke out, and their main reason for forming Deber was to create something even darker and denser than their previous bands – achieving this by going slow, and going full-on funeral doom.

Indeed, they accomplish that – and MORE, going slower and deeper – with their monolithic debut album, Aspire to Affliction. Aptly titled, Aspire to Affliction doesn’t aspire to recreate the wheel; rather, Deber aspire to create traditional funeral doom in the mold of masters Evoken, Worship, Skepticism, and Colosseum among others. Indeed, with DIE in charge of strings and organ while HCF handles drums and vocals, Deber‘s focused onslaught of sound retains a single-minded focus, but equally shows no shortage of imagination, as the organ work, in particular, evinces an especially inspired creepiness and centuries-old aura.

Recorded between May 2020 and July of 2021, Deber brought to life/death Aspire to Affliction wholly inspired by the glimmering city lights full of miserable conditions as seen from the woods of Uppsala, where the album was recorded. Those sensations are writ large here, for your imminent imbibement and ruination: this is music for your funeral.

March to that funeral with the brand-new track “Souldbind”  here:

ALDA reveal second track from new EISENWALD album

Today, Cascadian sonic architects Alda reveal the new track “Drawn Astray.” The track is the second to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated fourth album,  A Distant Fire, set for international release on October 8th via Eisenwald. Hear Alda‘s “Drawn Astray” here:

Originating from the forested hills of western Washington State, Alda have crafted a distinct blend of black metal, folk, and post-rock for over 12 years, releasing three albums between 2009 and 2015, playing selective live shows in North America, and embarking on their first European Tour in 2018. Throughout their existence, Alda have maintained a stable lineup of the same four members, being Jace and Stephanie Bruton, Tim Brown, and Michael Korchonnoff. This stability has allowed the band to manage a singular focus in maintaining their established sound, while simultaneously developing and augmenting their music with each passing release.

On A Distant Fire, Alda demonstrates a keen sense for engaging songwriting and a use of melody that is sure to enthrall listeners familiar with their work as well as individuals who are new to their sound. Thematically, the album tells a story about facing a dire and uncertain future, of nights illuminated by distant blazes and days obscured by ash and smoke. The songs fuse elements of the aforementioned genres with an ease that allows these songs to develop organically and presents listeners with an enticing sonic experience. The immersive qualities of the album are emphasized by the band’s epic compositions, both in length and musical development throughout the songs.

Written between 2017 and 2019, A Distant Fire was recorded and engineered during 2020 by Jake Superchi (UADA, Ceremonial Castings), who provides these songs with an appropriately warm and accessible production job that complements the band’s music and compositions admirably. Finally, mastering was done by the renowned Mell Dettmer at Studio Soli (Sunn O))), Wolves in the Throne Room, Earth, Elder).

The cover and whole insert artwork was painted by Second Nature Artwork – Craig Strother.

Overall, A Distant Fire represents a noticeable growth and transformation in Alda‘s songwriting and musical performance, while staying true to the spirit and intentions that have informed their music during their 14 years as a band.

UNCTORIS set release date for IRON BONEHEAD debut, reveal first track

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions announces November 19th as the international release date for Unctoris‘ highly anticipated debut album, Shout Demise, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Formed in 2003, Italy’s Unctoris have long been an outsider band for true outsiders. Their releases over those many years are sparse and sporadic, but they’ve justifiably earned an infamous reputation in their homeland for being real maniacs; ask any seasoned underground black/death band who’ve had the rare opportunity to play with Unctoris. But, extracurricular actions or none, it’s their music which has unsettled and stratified with total compunction: weird & wild black/death METAL malformed beyond belief, where one never quite knows what’s coming next…or whether the current riff is gonna hammer away into infinity. Verily, Unctoris make musick for themselves only.

Poignant, pus-filled proof can be found with their LONG-awaited debut album, Shout Demise. Much like the record’s quizzical title itself, Unctoris‘ multi-tentacled attack here makes total sense because it makes NO SENSE by systematically destroying those senses with brittle and bitter shards of the crudest black metal and most ancient death metal and even undigested doom. It’s simultaneously tension-inducing and massively mesmerizing, as endless catacombs of sound are explored and then defiled with devilish intent. Naturally, domestic legends like Mortuary Drape and even Death SS are touchstones, but more so are the cult likes of Morbid Upheaval and Goatfire. We can also mention the mind-mangling likes of Canada’s Lust, early Lugubrum, and current labelmates Malgöth and Tyrannic – but really, Shout Demise is wholly its own insane experience.

If you are a false, do not entry Unctoris‘ Shout Demise!

Entry (or do not) with the brand-new track “Come Stabilire se ci Sei Ancora” here:

cover and tracklisting as follows:

IN APHELION set release date for EDGED CIRCLE debut EP – features members of NECROPHOBIC

Today, Edged Circle Productions announces November 5th as the international release date for In Aphelion‘s highly anticipated debut EP, Luciferian Age, on CD format. The 12″ vinyl version will follow in February 2022.

A veritable treasure trove of Swedish black/death royalty, In Aphelion are a power-trio originally formed in 2020 by longtime Necrophobic guitarist Sebastian Ramstedt on vocals, guitar, and bass with prolific drummer Marco Prij. In 2021, with the advent of their debut demo, fellow Necrophobic guitarist Johan Bergebäck joined, making the unholy trinity complete. An impossibly auspicious first start, In Aphelion‘s first demo – despite being limited to a mere 50 copies – landed the band a deal with Edged Circle, now resulting in a teaser-length first EP and a grandiose hour-long debut album, set for March 2022.

Indeed, while the spectre of classic blackened death metal for which Sweden is known looms large over In Aphelion, it must be stressed that these gentlemen are THE grand architects of that incredibly influential and ever-enduring sound. And not ones to rest on their laurels, with In Aphelion do both Ramstedt and Bergebäck unfurl new vistas of the imagination whilst respectably remaining within that noble tradition. Simply put, this is timeless HEAVY METAL might painted in purple-blue hues but beaming with brilliant colors beyond.

Point proof is In Aphelion‘s first official EP, Luciferian Age. Here, two tracks – opener “Draugr” and the title track – are carried over from their forthcoming full-length, Moribund, and joined by the exclusive tracks “Wrath of a False God” and a cover of Kreator’s “Pleasure to Kill.” Totaling 23 minutes, Luciferian Age is a swift-yet-expansive sojourn into the In Aphelion soundworld. “Draugr” storms with a martial grandiosity, rallying the righteous before a darkly beautiful finale. The successive title track weaves a sinister march rife with devastating dynamics and an anthemic, arena-ready nature. The exclusive “Wrath of a False God” is a speedy yet shape-shifting gem of oldest obsidian, taking the listener on a climactic journey that’s worth the price alone. And proudly displaying In Aphelion‘s roots is the closing cover of Kreator’s classic “Pleasure to Kill,” reverential and ripping. The icing on the cake is the grippingly powerful mix & mastering by Unleashed’s Frederik Folkare.

Indeed, even being “merely” an EP makes Luciferian Age so much mightier than most other nowadays records: In Aphelion are prepared for a triumphant takeover with their forthcoming Moribund!

First track premiere to be revealed shortly. In the meantime, hear the previously revealed demo track “Let the Beast Run Wild” here:

cover and tracklisting as follows :

Tracklisting for In Aphelion’s Luciferian Age
1. Draugr [7:50]
2. Luciferian Age [4:40]
3. Wrath of a False God [6:28]
4. Pleasure to Kill (Kreator cover) [3:56]
