IMPALED NAZARENE set release date for new OSMOSE album, reveal first track

Today, Osmose Productions announces May 28th as the international release date for Impaled Nazarene‘s highly anticipated 13th album, Eight Headed Serpent, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

Witness the triumphant return of Impaled Nazarene! After seven years, the new studio album Eight Headed Serpent (their 13th) is finally unleashed upon this pathetic world full of wimps, posers, turn-the-other-cheekers, and generally ignorant glue-sniffers with their cancel culture and virtue-signaling. Hitting you like the 666-megaton nuclear bomb, Eight Headed Serpent shows no mercy to anybody! From the toxic-testosterone opener of “Goat Of Mendes” till the last dying cries of flat-earthers on “Foucault Pendulum,” Eight Headed Serpent takes no prisoners. This deadly sonic attack was recorded and mixed at Revolver studio in Finland by Asko Ahonen. Mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox studio. Cover artwork created by longtime collaborator Ritual from Nucleart Design.

Limited digipak version contains re-recorded versions of two old live classics, namely “Penis Et Circe’s” and “The Horny and The Horned.”

In case you have been living under the rock for the last 30 years: Impaled Nazarene was born from fire in November 1990 and have since then established themselves as THE nuclear metal force from Finland. Their over-30-year career has now spawned 13 studio albums, one live album, countless EPs, and hundreds of concerts around the globe on five continents.

In the meantime, hear the aforementioned brand-new track “Goat of Mendes” here:

GODSLAVE set release date for new METALVILLE album, reveal cover & tracklisting

Today, Metalville Records announces July 23rd as the international release date for Godslave‘s highly anticipated sixth album, Positive Aggressive, the band’s debut for the label.

Positive Aggressive is an album with a clear concept and a perfect symbiosis of music and message: catchy melodies and thrashing thrash metal on the one hand and inspiring lyrics that let you look deep into your soul on the other. One thing is clear: no thrash metal without aggression!

But Godslave ask the listener the all-important question: what do you do with the energy released by the aggression? Do you just want to destroy everything out of anger, or do you also want to build something new?

Godslave have made this decision: From opener “How About NO?” to closer “Final Chapters First,” every single song is a vehement statement for getting yourself in control.

Lyricist Bernie deliberately talks openly about his inner struggles – not only to cope with situations himself, but also to encourage others to take their fate into their own hands. Because no one will do it for you: It’s your life; it’s your decision!

On Positive AggressiveGodslave have revived old traditions and, in a time when real contacts are hardly possible, remembered the relationships with the people on the road who became part of the family from one moment to the next.

So the fans can look forward to two guest contributions in particular: On the one hand, Britta Görtz from Critical Mess has contributed distinctive backing vocals on “How about NO?” In addition, the guest solo by Damir Eskic closes the circle of a friendship with Destruction that has already lasted 10 years.

First single to be revealed shortly. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Canada’s DISEMBODIMENT set release date for CALIGARI debut EP, reveal first track – features members of OATH DIV. 666

Today, Caligari Records sets May 6th as the international release date for the striking debut EP of Canada’s DisembodimentMutated Chaos, on cassette tape format.

Hailing from the Sherbrooke/Montréal area of Quebec, Canada’s Disembodiment are devout disciples of early ’90s death metal. For them, Incantation’s first two albums are perfection, and they equally draw influence from the likes of Grotesque Infection, Disma, Rottrevore, and Undergang among others. But, while the name Disembodiment might seem like a new one, the band largely picks up from predecessor Oath Div. 666, who released an album, Apocalypse Division, in 2019.

No more but definitely no less, Disembodiment‘s first recording, the six-song/15-minute Mutated Chaos, offers all-caps DEATH METAL for death metal maniacs, by death metal maniacs. Theirs is a sound proudly stuck in 1992, lumbering ominously within radioactive slime one minute and then galloping upon broken bones the next, gutted slow-boulder doom one minute and clanging dissonant riffery the next. For a short recording, it’s swift and satisfying, and teases the devout for more ungodly death to come. The recording is also remarkably accomplished, sharp and sinewy and crushing in equal measure, with a vintage drum sound to die for.

The old ways are best, when it comes to death metal, and we’re inclined to agree with Disembodiment on evidence of Mutated Chaos!

Hear for yourself with the brand-new track “Mephitic Gunk of Putrified Limbs”  here:

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Interview with Serge from Selfgod (Automb, Necrophagia)

This week we spoke to Serge from Automb – 2020 – 2021 has been a weird time for all of us but as some of us imploded through the shut downs or too much food and booze others of us kept busy and creative during the down time, Serge from Automb is one of those – starting a side project called Selfgod – here is our first interview with him on Selfgod.
New music for us to check out to come soon

Life’s been very hard and weird for me through the pandemic.
Probably the worst year of my life

How have you been holding up during this crazy pandemic?

Life’s been very hard and weird for me through the pandemic.
Probably the worst year of my life. Due to health issues last year (non covid)
and of course the darkness of the pandemic and lock downs. Cancelling tours etc.

I would say this is the best material I’ve ever written.

I have heard one demo from Self God what can we expect for the album?
The debut Selfgod album will feature material I wrote for Necrophagia and Automb.
A good combination of Black and Death Metal. More emphasis on the death metal.
A lot more catchy riffs and more symphonic elements.
I would say this is the best material I’ve ever written.

How did you come up with the name Self God?
It was very hard to come up with a name that wasn’t taken.
Everything I thought of was already a band.
I came up with the title Selbtsgott in German for an Automb song which translates to “Selfgod”.
It represents the whole Pagan vibe I was trying to go for and there was another band with that name but it wasn’t very big and wasn’t active so I figured I can take that name.

Musically is the band going to be a drastic departure from Automb or just an extension of that band?
Probably an extension with more flavors so to speak. I was going to use this material for the 3rd Automb album originally.

Lyrically what are the themes for self god going to be about? More paganism stuff or self empowering stuff or?
Lyrically it’s mostly about Slavic paganism, self spiritually and just about the pagan age in Europe.
Still have some lyrics to finish. But that’s what I got so far.

I follow mostly Slavic Paganism since I’m Slavic and I’m from Ukraine

Speaking of Paganism what path do you follow?
I follow mostly Slavic Paganism since I’m Slavic and I’m from Ukraine
and I also follow my own path which is a mixture of everything.

Gear wise do you plan on using any different gear from your Automb days?
Gear wise it’s gonna be all completely different.
I recently became endorsed by Dean guitars so I’m going to be using strictly deans.
Also I got an endorsement from a very well known amp company.
Can’t say yet who it is since there hasn’t been an announcement but ya I won’t be using my old amp rig again.
Very excited to use this new gear

What can we expect next from Self God?
You can expect a total Blackened Death metal sonic pagan assault

Any final words?
I want to thank all the fans who supported me in Necrophagia and Automb.
You’re support is everything to me and without you I wouldn’t be anywhere but my bedroom.
So thank you all so much!
Stay positive and stay metal.
Also huge thanks to Alex from Brudders. Cheers.

RUACH RAAH set release date for new SIGNAL REX album, reveal first track

Today, Signal Rex announces June 30th as the international release date for Ruach Raah‘s highly anticipated third album, Misanthropic Wolfgang, on vinyl LP and cassette tape formats.

For a decade now, Portugal’s Ruach Raah have prolifically pursued an uncompromising vision of black metal: martial, punkish, HARSH. Death and Satan have been hailed, and their hymns exude total and utter cruelty. No mosh here and definitely no fun, Ruach Raah ruin everyone’s day with an iron-fisted and proudly monochromatic attack that carries forward the tradition laid down by Ildjarn and left behind by Bone Awl. That they’ve somehow managed to “develop” that no-progression/all-regression sound over various splits and two full-lengths is somehow astonishing; in recent years, one can easily detect traces of Panzerfaust-era Darkthrone as well as early Celtic Frost.

Now backed by a legitimate label in fellow Portuguese criminals Signal Rex, Ruach Raah strike with their fiercest ‘n’ foulest full-length yet: Misanthropic Wolfgang. Inscrutably titled, Misanthropic Wolfgang includes a number of very telling titles: “Skulls Cracked,” “Ceremonial Flagellation,” and especially “Inhale the Smokes ov Hate” and “Filthy Spirit Underground,” among others. That the trio-turned-duo have managed to make their signature sound simultaneously more close-minded and weirder is some sort of strange magick; this is undoubtedly the same Ruach Raah of before and the beginning, but their proto-minimalist canvas takes on transcendental new levels of catchiness and anti-anthem antagonism. Elsewhere, they remain as resolutely old-school and organic as before, belligerent and battering and unmindful of the listener’s comfort or any regard for anyone listening. This is blank-slate hate, devoid of meaning except for what the band themselves places upon it. It’s very likely not for you.

Turn off, tune out, drop to your knees: Ruach Raah will make you suffer with Misanthropic Wolfgang.

Begin suffering with the brand-new track “Ceremonial Flagellation” here:

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Ruach Raah’s Misanthropic Wolfgang
A1. Ceremonial Flagellation
A2. Bones Return to Soil
A3. Luciferian Legions
A4. Misanthropic Wolfgang
A5. Filthy Spirit Underground

B2. Skulls Cracked
B3. Inhale the Smokes ov Hate

Swedish thrash cult Insane premiere new track

Today, Swedish thrash cult Insane premiere the new track “At Dawn They Die”. The track is the third to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated second album, Victims, set for international release on April 30th via Dying Victims Productions. Hear Insane‘s “At Dawn They Die” in its entirety here:

For over a decade now, Sweden’s Insane have inconspicuously built a catalog of dark ‘n’ dirty thrash metal worth reckoning. That they’ve gone largely unnoticed by all but diehard thrashers is a crime, and attributable more to the sheer abundance of metallic options still coming out of their homeland rather than any lack of quality. In fact, across Insane’s two EPs, three demos, one split, one compilation, and especially 2017’s Evil debut album, one will be hard pressed to find a more strident iteration of ripping ancient thrash.

And Insane continue sticking to their (strident, ripping) guns with their second full-length, Victims. Lyrically focused on the dark world of Swedish murderers, Victims indeed evokes a darker aspect than the already-dark Evil predecessor; the harmonic dual-guitar action sends well-timed shivers down the listener’s spine. But just like that preceding LP, here do Insane show their mastery of epic songcraft, as the majority of the tracks again top five minutes whilst exhibiting that exhilarating rush so crucial to thrash, winding along wildly and ever so slightly touching upon more “tech” textures. If anything, the band engage and challenge in equal measure here, feeding manna to musos and rivetheads alike. Likewise, their iteration of thrash is a multilingual one, varyingly nodding to classic Canadian and German tropes and especially those that have been budding in the wider Scandinavian region more recently and also more “back in the day.”

A unique aspect to Insane that the quartet continue on Victims is the full-bodied, almost rock ‘n’ roll-ish production: warmly analog but not faked, gritty and dirty but never belabored, and thankfully, nothing ear-piercingly overdriven like so much pizza thrash. Essentially, Victims is for those who like their thrash dank and pure and, above all, well-crafted.

If thrash as a whole has its waves of popularity/oversaturation, depending on the year, Insane remain resolute as perpendicular maverick ready to challenge the passé and played-out. If you’re ready for their bandwagon to start rolling, become one of their Victims NOW!

Jump on that bandwagon with the previously revealed  “The Sword” exclusively HERE, courtesy of Zero Tolerance magazine, and the previously revealed “Sinister Night” exclusively HERE, courtesy of Deaf Forever magazine. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Insane (Sweden)’s Victims
1. Maximum Force
2. The Sword
3. Cruel Command

5. Sinister Night
6. At Dawn They Die

T.O.M.E. set release date for SPREAD EVIL debut, reveal first track

Today, Spread Evil Productions announces June 4th as the international release date for T.O.M.E.‘s highly anticipated debut album, I-III.

A mysterious entity whose membership is rumored to include veterans of the Finnish metal underground, T.O.M.E. are as beguiling as their likewise-mysterious acronymed moniker. Their chosen idiom is indeed black metal, but the iteration of such across the three-song/36-minute I-III is as twisted and treacherous as it comes. Heaving, hulking, and haunting, T.O.M.E.-the-band defy conventional definitions of “black metal.”

While largely lumbering in its downtempo stomp, the crunchy canvas of I-III eventually reveals subtle-yet-nevertheless dramatic surges of energy and surprisingly catchy hooks that otherwise evade rote “catchiness.” No, the dense and decidedly tense album builds and builds and builds, that tension simmering and eventually brought to a boil; there are no crowd-pleasing moments here even if the bulk of the band’s attack is exceptionally headbanging at times. The cool ‘n’ coasting ease with which T.O.M.E. construct these hypnotizing screeds similarly nods to DSBM tropes, but malforms them in a manner that brings it all back to Burzum’s most pioneering works. Elsewhere, shades of everything from prime Barathrum to Triptykon at their blackest to even Bolt Thrower-gone-BM slither through the soundfield.

And this is but the start: with the seemingly inscrutable title of I-III, the band have revealed that this first album is the first in a continuance of albums featuring three songs, with IV-VI to follow, then VII-IX etc. You’ve been warned.

T.O.M.E. could be a t-o-m-b, for all we know. Enter their crypt and discover for yourself.

In the meantime, hear the brand-new track “I” here:

VRITRAHN-WERWOLF set release date for long-awaited WEREWOLF debut album, reveal first tracks – features members of WHITE DEATH+++

Vritrahn-Werwolf formed in 2014 as a conspiracy between infamous antagonist Werwolf and erstwhile White Death frontman Vritrahn – hence, their moniker. Two vile demos followed in quick succession over 2014 and 2015, followed by a thematic 12″ EP in 2017. Across these cruelly short recordings, Vritrahn-Werwolf spanned a surprising variety of black metalled songcrafts, from the regal ‘n’ vampiric to the primitive ‘n’ punkish and plenty of points in between, but the ultimate aim always remained: unapologetic blasphemy, a resolute lawlessness, and utter desecration and DEDICATION.

Now, Vritrahn-Werwolf rise from their slumber beneath a cursed, rat-infected ship and reveal their highly anticipated first full-length, fittingly self-titled. No more but certainly no less, Vritrahn-Werwolf is a swift and exciting summation of those years spent dwelling with the underground, encompassing those aforementioned songcrafts and spanning yet more, including darkly triumphant deathrock, Satanic ritual ambient, and even classic symphonic black metal. Furthermore, the fire that was stoked across those short-lengths has billowed into an inferno here, as the duo’s execution has been sharpened to an enviable degree, and the production in kind: while by no means “polished” in the conventional sense, Vritrahn-Werwolf exudes a startling clarity within its antagonistic rawness, allowing each of these nine unique tracks to bleed their own black blood. Above all, Vritrahn-Werwolf embody all-caps BLACK METAL the way it was originally created in ancient times, when The Message aligned equally with The Medium, and unorthodoxy was not only celebrated, but almost mandatory if one was to pursue the Black Arts. Or, simply witness the slow-burn march/mantra of “Blasphemous Metal” and begin to understand (or not): FUCK YOU!!!

Vritrahn-Werwolf is probably not for you. For those who breathe the breath of night, raise the banner of Vritrahn-Werwolf high!

Raise the first two banners with the brand-new track “End of the Ages” and “Death Torments” here:

CADAVERIC INCUBATOR set release date for new HELLS HEADBANGERS album, reveal new track

Today, Hells Headbangers announces May 14th as the international release date for Cadaveric Incubator‘s highly anticipated second album, Nightmare Necropolis, on CD and cassette tape formats; the vinyl LP version will follow later this year. In lieu of this announcement, Cadaveric Incubator reveal the new track “Sickly Obsessed,” which can be heard here:

Comprising veterans of the Finnish underground, Cadaveric Incubator‘s history stretches back to 2004. While the band would deliver a demo and three-way split CD the next year, they broke up in 2007, only to re-form in 2014 with a renewed lineup and a renewed purpose: bury the listener under miles of garbage and grime, sewage and sickness. And they did exactly that in 2017 with their widely celebrated debut album for Hells HeadbangersSermons of the Devouring Dead. Comprising a dozen tracks of utterly ugly, morally bereft DEATH METAL of a most classic vintage, this was death metal for death metal maniacs, by death metal maniacs.

Now, following a couple split 7″s in 2018, Cadaveric Incubator return to uphold that very same banner, uglier and more morally bereft than ever: Nightmare Necropolis, the band’s second full-length. Thankfully, little has changed in their worldview the past four years since the release of that debut album, and Cadaveric Incubator are all the better for it. The disgusting, old-school influences remain – early Carcass, Repulsion, early Xysma, Mortician, Blood, and early Disgorge Mexico, among others – but an emphasis has ever so subtly been placed on catchier songwriting here. With the pummeling (and well-timed) D-beats being more pronounced in that songwriting, there’s a none-too-inconspicuous Autopsy element across Nightmare Necropolis…and lo and behold, the band got THE Eric Cutler of Autopsy to contribute a solo on “Frenzied Hatred”! Likewise, with an album title like Nightmare Necropolis, there’s a decidedly darker aspect to Cadaveric Incubator this time around, making their raw, filthy brutality hit that much harder.

You want total death? Then TOTAL DEATH is what you get! Enter Cadaveric Incubator‘s Nightmare Necropolis…if you dare!

Hear the previously revealed “Necropolis” HERE at Hells Headbangers‘ official YouTube channel. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
