EADEM set release date for IRON BONEHEAD debut, reveal first track

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions sets October 19th as the international release date for Eadem’s striking debut mini-album, Luguber, on CD and 12″ vinyl format.

Shrouded in platonic madness, Eadem emerged in 2009 under a chaotic, dirty, and ritualistic atmosphere by the hands of Stramonivm. Later one night, T. joined in, driven by a psychotropic dementia and spiritual quest. Malfiore appeared one evening draped in scarlet somewhere in 2012.

Musically, among other influences and genres, Eadem play something that could be labelled as traditional “free jam” black metal. Lyrically, the trio deal with sorcery, occultism, superstitions, depraved poetry, and alchoholism.

Eadem’s first demo recording, In Vino Veritas, was self-released in 2014 with the participation of Stramonivm (guitar, vocals, and lyrics), Malfiore (bass and vocals), and T. (guitar and effects); the session drums were done by Iunus (Ab Imo Pectore, Monte Penumbra). The band’s second demo, Hekserij, was invoked through the participation of Stramonivm (guitar, drums, vocals, lyrics), Malfiore (bass, vocals), and T. (guitars, effects) and was self-released September 21, 2015 to celebrate the autumn equinox.

With that experience behind them, it is now to the mini-album Luguber to portray the full strength of Eadem’s provocative vision. In many ways parallel to their native Portugal’s raw black metal scene and yet perpendicular all the same, Luguber takes the listener on a warped, wobbly ride deep into the depraved depths of Eadem’s subconscious. Within that realm exist shadows that devour other shadows, each one more menacing than the next, but all seemingly moving with deceptive delicateness – forceful, for sure, but always with an elusiveness/aloofness that’s stultifyingly out of one’s grasp. Clanging chords and mesmerizing melodies, akimbo shapes thrown by obscene structures, all amidst a soundfield that’s incredibly dynamic, even within such ghostly rawness: Luguber is truly hallucinogenic, and daringly so.

For this recording, the Eadem cult consists of Stramonivm, Malfiore, and Tiúval (Israthoum, etc). Lyrically and musically, they approach an entity in its spiritual decay, in madness and asylum – the need for the ultimate ritual for her own survival, her own chaos or the lack of peace.

Enter the stark and desolate catacombs of Eadem’s Luguber and emerge enlightened…or utterly empty. If you are not a false, entry can be found with the new track “Delusions of Grandeur” HERE

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Eadem’s Luguber
1. Consecutive Dementia
2. Restrained by an Old Rite
3. Delusions of Grandeur
4. Acute Scarlet Melancholia
5. Head Held Up

PROPHECY PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCES U.S. EXPANSION & PROPHECY FEST USA

August 1, 2018 – Los Angeles, CA – Following two decades of acclaimed success, with revered releases from some of the most prolific and groundbreaking acts in eclectic heavy music, Germany based Prophecy Productions has officially announced their expansion to North America with a division of the label now established in Los Angeles.

Further affirming their presence, Prophecy has unveiled the first edition of Prophecy Fest USA, which will take place at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY on November 2nd and 3rd. The inaugural event will feature performances by Alcest, Xasthur, November’s Doom, So Hideous and more. Those who purchase tickets to the Fest will receive a special edition 2xCD Prophecy Compilation. Two day tickets are available now at http://us.prophecy.de/prophecy-fest/prophecy-fest-us-ticket.html.

Prophecy Productions emerged in 1996, quickly earning worldwide regard for high quality releases and a selective, eclectic roster. Beginning as a self-run mail order, Prophecy owner & founder Martin Koller released Empyrium’s 1996 debut, A Wintersunset… To this day, he has continued to nurture and develop artists he loves, resulting in a staggering roster which sports artist such as Alcest, Khôrada, Bethlehem, Lantlôs, Falkenbach, etc.

With growing awareness of the vast differences and growing possibilities in the US metal community, Koller chose to expand into the US by opening a North American division. In 2017, Koller moved to California to explore new possibilities in the American market, establishing a diverse, talented and dedicated American team, consisting of Rayshele Teige (ex-Century Media and Osmose), Kay Shelton (ex-20 Buck Spin & Wolves in the Throne Room, Northwest Terror Fest), and Matt Bacon (Metal Injection, Dropout Media).

With Prophecy in the USA, this powerhouse team aims to enrich and expand the Prophecy roster, uncovering and cultivating fresh artists and supporting icons alike. So far, the US roster reads eccentric, eclectic and nicely unpragmatic; US black metal pioneers Nachtmystium and Xasthur, highly speculated and anticipated supergroup Khôrada (ex-Agalloch, Giant Squid), blackened-sludge abyss Eye of Nix, Oakland surrealists Silence in the Snow, black metal/noise crossover superstar Crowhurst, and brute-doom experimentalists Year of the Cobra.

DEATHHAMMER set release date for new HELLS HEADBANGERS album,

Today, Hells Headbangers sets October 5th as the international release date for Deathhammer’s highly anticipated fourth album, Chained to Hell, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

By now, Deathhammer should need no introduction. For 13 years, this insatiable Norwegian duo have been at the forefront of the burgeoning blackthrash movement. Though blackthrash has seen intermittent surges in popularity over the last few decades, for sole members Sadomancer and Sargeant Salsten, this is a way of life – not a trend. Deathhammer proved as much as with their cult debut album, Phantom Knights, in 2010 and then proved it yet further and more fully – and more furiously and filthily – with 2013’s Onward to the Pits and 2015’s Evil Power, both of which were released by Hells Headbangers to widespread international acclaim. And yet, through it all, the duo kept their wits about them, simply being Deathhammer and taking their irresistible (and irresistibly evil) charm to stages worldwide, including a command performance at Hells Headbangers’ Hells Headbash 2 in 2015.

With the stage set thusly, Chained to Hell is a statement of intent for Deathhammer: this is who they are, eternally, and there’s no turning back. Everything that’s endeared the duo to legions worldwide – bursting-at-the-seams energy, forever-forward momentum, coiling-yet-catchy songwriting, and that strangely clean ‘n’ clanging guitar tone that’s somehow dirtier than most other blackthrash out there – is here, both in a state that’s blood-red raw and sagely mature. It’s a unique duality that Deathhammer so unselfconsciously exude here, that youthful enthusiasm somehow remaining intact but simultaneously imparting an aeons-old wisdom, the entirety of classic metal history run through a rusty blender. Of course, the firmest foundation still remains that fateful year of 1985, when when Sodom and especially Destruction were releasing their respective, undeniably classic debut EPs – but also of course, Deathhammer possess that elusive charisma that elevates Chained to Hell from lazy pastiche to a crucial component in that blackthrashing continuum.

Some bands age like fine wine, while others are mostly remembered for their early, exuberant energy. With Chained to Hell, Deathhammer prove you can do both!

Pre-NAZXUL band ICHOR set release date for long-awaited SEANCE debut album, reveal first track

Today, Seance Records sets October 5th as the international release date for the long-awaited debut album of Australia’s Ichor, God of Thunder God of War.

If the name Ichor isn’t immediately familiar, it’s for good reason: this extremely cult black metal band formed in 1993 and disbanded later that year. During that time, the band recorded and released a self-titled four-track demo tape. But, its disbanding was also for good reason: Ichor’s two members, Wraith and Diablore, wanted to focus on their other band, the now-legendary Nazxul. Thus, in the grand context of Australian black metal, Ichor served as an oft-unknown yet crucial puzzle piece.

Late in 2017, the decision was made by Wraith and Diablore to re-form Ichor, and the duo promptly recorded the band’s first full-length. Aptly titled God of Thunder God of War, Ichor’s debut album thematically focuses on Slavic paganism. In fact, the moniker Ichor itself the ancient Greek word for the fluid that runs in the gods’ veins; the concept behind using that word was that the only difference between humanity and the gods is a physical substance or principal, thusly meaning that humanity can rise to the ranks of gods.

With that foundation at hand, Ichor’s God of Thunder God of War indeed soars to the heights – and likewise depths – through a sinuous surge of stout, atmospherically inclined black metal. In many ways, the album’s a culmination and consolidation of the paradigmatic Australian black metal sound pioneered by Nazxul – and, by proxy, Ichor – as it wends and wends through the sturm und drang, the tragedy and triumph, for which OZBM has become so renown for nearly two decades. Suitably, here is a sound both timeless and current, breathing the essence of ancient days and charging forward across the present simultaneously: grim majesty and bittersweet melodicism commingle, their tendrils locking together as the almost-levitational thrust of Ichor’s palpable physicality takes flight. It all makes for high drama, suggestive of a narrative arc, and its remarkably compact six-song/37-minute runtime feels far more epic than it has any right to be. Understandably, the album contains a rerecording of one of the original demo tracks, titled “Daughters Of Wrath” – a song about the cunning folk and practitioners of the Slavonic native faith, witches.

Let it be known, however, that God of Thunder God of War is no mere “retro” gesture: Ichor are currently working on new material, and will be an ongoing band. In the meantime, hail the old gods – God of Thunder God of War! Begin hailing with the new track “Spectres of the Woods”

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Ichor’s God of Thunder God of War
1. Spectres Of The Woods
2. Noble Ichor
3. Vucica
4. Call Of The Bloodthirst
5. Yaga’s Tomb
6. Daughters Of Wrath

ARCHGOAT unveil a second track from their upcoming new album, ‘The Luciferian Crown’ !

ARCHGOAT unveil a second track from their upcoming new album, ‘The Luciferian Crown’ !

‘The Obsidian Flame (From My Depths)’ is built on a colossally grim, thuggishly heavy, lethally toxic riff. The momentum of the music isn’t a rush, nor animated by technical acrobatics. The pace is like that of a heaving, stalking behemoth, driven by a slow, punishing drum cadence — which erupts in bursts of thundering mania without warning.

The vocals, of course, are a heartless croaking sound which seems only barely human. And the song is further marked by paranormal lead-guitar vibrations that truly seem like emanations from a sulphurous realm. Those brief perilous melodies warble, swirl, and ring out in devilish clarion calls. The combination of all these ingredients is like a primal invocation, a summoning of demonic lust, or perhaps like a tumor that grows in the listener’s brain and continues to fester there after the track ends. (No Clean Singing)

Chris Moyen created the vision of hellish worship and orgy on the cover and the layout was crafted by Kontamination Design.

‘The Luciferian Crown’ features 9 (+intro) new angelslaying Black Metal hymns :

01. Intrantation
02. Jesus Christ Father of Lies
03. Jezebels Black Mass Orgy
04. Messiah of Pigs
05. Darkness has Returned
06. Sorcery and Doom
07. Star of Darkness and Abyss
08. The Obsidian Flame (From My Depths)
09. The Luciferian Crown (Venom Of God)
10. I Am Lucifer’s Temple

“The Luciferian Crown” will be out on September 14th and is available for pre-order right now Gatefold Picture 12″ LP, Gatefold 12″ LP, Digipack CD, Digital Download. New merch is also available !

BLACK METAL NOISE EXPERIMENTALIST CROWHURST SIGNS WITH PROPHECY PRODUCTIONS

July 27, 2018 – Los Angeles, CA – Prophecy Productions has signed prolific experimental harsh noise/black metal crossover superstar, Crowhurst. A project headed by Jay Gambit, Crowhurst stands as a testament to his ability to weave ethereal, engaging soundscapes without falling into the trap which befalls so many prolific artists – predictability. Over 75 releases, and each album remains a dynamic, disorienting exploration unlike the last.
Beginning as a strictly experimental project, Crowhurst grew to encompass various collaborations with artists and producers such as Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Oathbreaker), who engineered & produced 2015’s I. The 2016 follow up, II was recorded in Manchester, England and produced at Machines With Magnets (The Body, Daughters). Crowhurst finalizes their trilogy with III, to be recorded with legendary producer & engineer Kurt Ballou (Converge, Full Of Hell) at God City Studios later this year, and will be Crowhurst’s Prophecy Productions debut. The effort features guest appearances from Tony Wakeford (Sol Invictus, Death In June), Ethan Lee McCarthy (Primitive Man), and Tara Vanflower (Lycia, Type O Negative) amongst a handful of other notables.

Crowhurst’s music has been featured everywhere from Vice, Decibel, and Terrorizer to The Tom Green Show. Meanwhile, Gambit has collaborated with Gary Mundy (Skullflower, Ramleh), Hiroshi Hasegawa (Astro, C.C.C.C.) and Eugene Robinson (Oxbow) amongst hundreds of others. Gambit is a person that you could talk music with for 6 hours and never repeat a single name. His taste changes across the board, and his music is reflective of this. His music varies, scares you, and leaves you hungry. Tiny Mix Tapes says, “Gambit is more along the lines of a 70’s Miles Davis”. Experimental, harsh, unrelenting and thoroughly unique.

Innovation is an important aspect of Crowhurst. On his signing with Prophecy, Gambit says, “With a roster who’s artists have a reputation for consistently breaking musical barriers and pushing genres in new directions, it is an insane honor to join the Prophecy family of artists.” With notable appearances at SXSW, Northwest Terror Fest and Days of Darkness II, Crowhurst is pleased to announce an appearance at the upcoming inaugural edition of Prophecy Fest USA in Brooklyn, NY this November.

Atmospheric blackmetal act Taur-Im-Duinath “Così Parlò il Tuono” track streaming

Atmospheric blackmetal act, Taur-Im-Duinath, has launched a video streaming for the first single “Così Parlò il Tuono” off the upcoming album “Del Flusso Eterno”, which will be released in fall 2018!

“Così Parlò il Tuono” (Thus Spake the Thunder) represents the broken circle, the stasis, a void of life as well as a journey through a desertic land no more kissed by rain.

The voice of Thunder is the promise of the water’s return, and the life it generates. It is the voice of the creator God, warning the wanderer: “Give, compassion, control”.

Further news will follow during the following weeks….

Australian black metal act, ILL OMEN announce Iron Bonehead 12″

IRON BONEHEAD PRODUCTIONS is proud to present a special mini-album from ILL OMEN, The Grande Usurper, on CD and 12″ vinyl formats.

Listen to it here

A prolific force within the Australian black metal underground, ILL OMEN has built a canon of enviably massive proportions – and not just “massive” in size, but rather in the heights/depths to which mainman IV aims. Much like he has in his death metal-oriented vehicle TEMPLE NIGHTSIDE, IV scours the murk with single-minded intent, but with ILL OMEN, he pursues a vision of black metal that’s ceremonial and sinuous, often slowly drifting like fog lingering across an empty grave. Such was the case with 2016’s massive Æ.Thy.Rift – arguably, IV’s perfection of slo-mo blackdoom – and here, he returns with his first recording since that critically acclaimed third album.

And yet, The Grande Usurper is a grand break from the gooey, stretched-out expanses of Æ.Thy.Rift. No less murky, instead, IV sends the listener on a wild ride through the most bestial recesses of the characteristic ILL OMEN sound. Across its four-song/25-minute runtime, The Grande Usurper roils and revels among the filth, pulsing with barely contained rage, as mind-melting solos yawn slowly up from the crypt, invoking that same sense of delirium as Æ.Thy.Rift but faster. Altogether, it’s a record that consolidates all the gnarled ‘n’ gnarling weapons within the ILL OMEN arsenal, but wields them in obscene and horrifyingly new ways. Hideous energy, slipstreaming songwriting, coffin-bound atmosphere crushed: here is revealed The Grande Usurper.

RODENT EPOCH set release date for SATURNAL debut, reveal first track

Today, Saturnal Records sets October 12th as the international release date for Rodent Epoch’s striking debut album, Rodentlord. An exquisitely nasty work, Rodentlord proves that the filth & fury for which Finnish black metal has become renown in this millennium is far from dead. In fact, it’s UNDEAD, and Rodent Epoch are here to exhume the sound and bring forth their own epoch.

Rodent Epoch was founded in 2009 in Oulu, Finland. Upon the band’s formation, the primary influences fueling their filth & fury became darkness, sickness, cosmos, war, death, intoxication, psychedelia, horror, metal of all kinds – be it black, death, thrash, or doom – punk and rock ‘n’ roll. Suitably armed, Rodent Epoch proceeded to release their debut demo, EOR, in 2011, with the Hellbastard EP arriving a year later, both laying bare the band’s crude ‘n’ rude aesthetic.

Now arrives Rodentlord, which is a journey cathartic sweat: Rodent Epoch murder your ego and reveal your filthy animal host. Cosmic (un-) learning, noise worship, blood, fire, demons, trance and psychosis…all this and plenty more filth goes into the paradigmatic Finnish black metal lustily unleashed across Rodentlord’s 45-minute runtime. Yet, compared to many of their contemporaries both past and especially present, there’s a distinctly punkish and daresay-rockin’ thrust to Rodent Epoch. Their eight animalistic hymns sing thus:

RODENTLORD IS ALIVE
WE HAVE ALL RAISED HIM
WE ARE ALL GUILTY

Piss on purple candles, burn the robe… Come to me and my companions, come to the obscure dominions. We drugged the planet. Welcome to the mayhem, Me and You…
Molten black metal is already pouring down the tower walls. The monster awakens. WAKE UP! Necroseer, wake up! Necroseer, pure guts, pure man…

FUNERAL NEMESIS
MASTER NECRO
FUCK THE WORLD

The gutters explode, and your funeral has arrived. Its name is Rodentlord, and its vessels are the arrogant bastards of Rodent Epoch. Herald the Epoch’s arrival with the new track “High on Hades”

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Rodent Epoch’s Rodentlord
1. High On Hades
2. Rodent Lord
3. Cult Of Mission
4. Mayhem In the Courtyard Of God
5. Red Heavens
6. Twisted Covenant
7. Nemesis Necro
8. Funeral Master

Ukraine’s DIS ORCUS stream FOREVER PLAGUED debut album

In these days, where black metal has lost its essence, replaced by dialogue from those who have no intrinsic affinity, Forever Plagued presents to you the debut album of Ukraine’s Dis Orcus. Bringing the very core of what has been lost, against the trends that have turned this genre into subjugated ruins, once again feel the reverberation of chaos and darkness with soulless certainty.
