Peruvian black metal cult Arcada stream debut album

Today, Peruvian black metal cult Arcada stream the entirety of their striking debut album, Projections. Set for international release on March 27th via Edged Circle Productions, hear Arcada‘s Projections in its entirety here:
One of the underground’s best-kept secrets, Arcada hail from the cult-metal hotbed of Peru. Forming in 2012, the band have patiently built a small-but-significant canon across three demos and an EP. Each step of the way, Arcada have further finessed their sulfurous-yet-nuanced craft, each short-length recording providing a pivotal step toward aesthetic perfection.

Now, at last, it seems Arcada have accomplished that perfection with their long-awaited debut album, Projections. Wasting no time in establishing its mystical muse, Projections pulses forward with slashing ‘n’ scything intent. Riffs hammer with malice, but also with no small amount of melody, ringing out across the abyss like a clarion call for Hell’s hordes to arise. Underneath, moving with subtlety and surety, actual bass guitar plays demonic counterpoint, embellishing each of these five projections with a uniquely melancholic aspect.

And that aspect, in fact, puts Arcada in general and Projections in particular in a rarefied field. Not for them the chaotic blackthrashing overload of their no-less-considerable countrymen; rather, the quartet shape their occult-infused, epically-minded black metal into something ceremonial, otherworldly, simply OTHER. Not for nothing is the 39-minute Projections comprised of five lengthy tracks: each operates as its own labyrinthine corridor, forming a more grandiose – and more horrifying – landscape when threaded together as entire album-length work. Indeed, Projections is aptly titled…

Bells of doom toll from the Other Side, heralding the arrival of Arcada‘s Projections. Bear witness, or banish!

BYTHOS premiere new track – features members of BEHEXEN, HORNA

From Finland comes a brand-new alliance who creates their musical black art under the name of Bythos! Bythos has made a pact with the infamous Terratur Possessions and will bring forth their debut album bearing the title The Womb of Zero, to be released April 24th internationally. And today, the band premiere the new track “Sorath the Opposer” . Hear Bythos‘ “Sorath the Opposer” in its entirety here:
Musically, Bythos combines cold melodies and versatile riffs, creating rich and numinous landscapes which encounters powerful and vicious liturgies. The music supports the lyrical theme of the songs well, and the moods range from oppressive despair to ecstatic praise of the dark gods. The theme of the album is an interdimensional view of the underworld and its deities, emphasizing strongly on the spiritual evolution to liberate the imprisoned powers, and make one with the outer darkness.

The resetting of the divine plans through destruction and rise above limitations of life. Beauty in destruction, destruction in beauty. A sonic interpretation of what once was and our constant path of devolution towards the Luciferian dawn.

. The first sounds of that Luciferian dawn can be heard with the previously revealed “When Gold Turns Into Lead” HERE at Terratur‘s Soundcloud.

NÔIDVA set release date for PURITY THROUGH FIRE debut, streaming now – features members of SACRIFICIUM CARMEN and RIIVAUS

NÔIDVA set release date for PURITY THROUGH FIRE debut, streaming now – features members of SACRIFICIUM CARMEN and RIIVAUS

Today, Purity Through Fire sets April 11th as the international release date for Nôidva‘s striking debut album, Windseller, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

A brand-new entity hailing from Finland, Nôidva feature members of Sacrificium Carmen and Riivaus. Although detectably Finnish black metal in sound and style, Nôidva uniquely focus on Laplandish shamanism for their first public work, the full-length Windseller.

Freezing and furious, the black metal Nôidva unfurl across Windseller crucially contains a mystical element – folkloric, magickal, evocative of forgotten realms far from modernity – as well as a melodicism that stirs the more courageous side of one’s spirit rather than immediate and irrevocable bloodlust. As such, Winderseller poignantly imparts a favorably late ’90s aspect both in form and feel, and done with the undeniable passion Nôidva possess, the sum effect is refreshing as it is reverential.

Above all, perhaps, Windseller doesn’t overstay its welcome: within six songs in nearly a half-hour, Nôidva get in and get out, their immediacy paradoxically long-lasting. The past is alive across Lapland!

Fully immerse yourself in that journey into the past by streaming Windseller in its entirety HERE at the Black Metal Promotion YouTube channel.

THE PROJECTIONIST: Black metal collective share new track & announce details of fifth full-length operetta

Canada’s sinister theatrical Black Metal consortium known as The Projectionist return with their highly anticipated fifth full-length operetta, The Stench of Amalthia, comes on CD and cassette formats via Moribund Records on April 17th. Mastermind Lord Matzigkeitus, alongside his evil cohorts Parageist, Ghast, Destroyer, Malphas, present original concepts and storylines in place of the usual black metal oratory.

Hear “Covetous”
The Projectionist’s full theatrical stage performances depart the confines of traditional black metal and elevate the inherent darkness to a new level of high art. They use classic heavy metal song structuring that embodies all the hooks & the essence of true heavy metal within a modern black/death metal context. Supported by a nefarious cast of characters which change through every album, forthcoming albums from The Projectionist are to be full operettas or plays set to black metal, where characters from the complex storylines are portrayed by a different vivacious vocal style.

The band’s fifth album and Moribund Records debut, The Stench of Amalthia, marks a new dawn for The Projectionist: faster, harsher, and more hateful than its predecessor. TSOA is also crafted into an immersive, chilling horror experience complete with sound effects (and of course, ruthless black metal).

In this second necrotic black metal opera, the story falls upon an aging, dying former Film Noire starlet, Amalthia Grahame, isolated in her palatial home. Her physician, Dr. Bendix, sends a young nurse named Evelyn to tend to Amalthia’s final days, as a live-in nurse for palliative care. When left alone with the old withering actress, gruesome and macabre events unfold to wield death, torture and satanic forces against the poor fragile Nurse… and all who’d call upon the Mansion looking for her.

Bask in the evocative performances of Aven Haunts as Amalthia and Evelyn, Caeser Tiberius as Dr. Bendix and the unholy master of otherworldly shrieking himself, Lord Matzigkeitus. As the vile, climactic shredding of The Projectionist oozes oubliette theatrical darkness, every lost crevice in your mind is made a terrifyingly unsafe place to hide!

Why has Nurse Evelyn become so weak? What is the story behind the shadowy Dr. Bendix? Who is Amalthia Grahame… and why do people around her keep dying? Answers to all these questions and more are unveiled through the course of the 10 epic acts from The Projectionist!

Finland’s TEMPLAR to release debut demo on CALIGARI – streaming now

Today, Caligari Records sets April 24th as the international release date for the debut demo of Finland’s Templar, Knights of Nuclear Hell Decibelfucking the Charred Remains of the Christ, on cassette tape format.

One of the most utterly unhinged recordings Caligari has come across in recent years, Templar‘s Nuclear Hell Decibelfucking the Charred Remains of the Christ was originally self-released digitally and on super-limited cassette during the autumn of 2018. Accurately titled in all its absurd glory, form completing meeting content, Templar‘s first public recording was indeed a nuclear-charged explosion of chaotic blackthrash, berzerker speed metal, and demented Japanese-style punk. Everything’s going off the rails here, all the time, but somehow Templar pull it all together with swaggering style – as well as a perverse, uncanny ear for a (hellish) hook.

Hooked since first hearing it, Caligari  now unleashes Nuclear Hell Decibelfucking the Charred Remains of the Christ in a wider-scale tape edition, bolstered by remixed & remastered sound, ensuring full-force delirium tremens. Templar have just started their march, so support these knights or fall to their decibel-fucking blade!

Fully march with a full stream of this new remastered edition here:

Canadian Chaos Black Metal extremists REVENGE return with ‘Strike.Smother.Dehumanize’, the follow up to their 2015 album ‘Behold.Total.Rejection’. With ‘Behold.Total.Rejection’, the band caused a stir in the underground scene by signing to Season of Mist. In what many saw as an unorthodox move by both band and label, it caused long-time fans and critics alike to speculate on the outcome. Upon the release of ‘Behold.Total.Rejection’, the Canadians proved all who had questioned this unexpected alliance wrong, by releasing one of the most successful and over the top albums in their discography. Being called complete noise by some, and total genius by others, these polarized views continue to be worn by the band as a badge of honor. After the recording and subsequent release of ‘Behold.Total.Rejection’, REVENGE wasted no time systematically destroying the festival atmosphere at metal fests around the world and laying waste to stages in North America and Europe touring with the likes of WATAIN, DESTRÖYER 666, MAYHEM, SHINING and MGLA to name a few. The smoke has now cleared from the rubble, and it is time to smother the fallen with another wave of Chaotic Black Metal in the Canadian tradition with the release of the band’s forthcoming sixth full length album, ‘Strike.Smother.Dehumanize’. Already being hailed as their most compelling work to date, ‘Strike.Smother.Dehumanize’ is a show of force that positions REVENGE at the top of the extremist black metal food chain. Continuing to maintain the lone wolf self segregation stance that has served the band well since day one, REVENGE has once again unapologetically refused to let any musical or ideologically alien influences infiltrate and poison the original intent upon which its foundations were built. On ‘Strike.Smother.Dehumanize’, J. Read has eclipsed all past releases. With an extremely potent and organic production, lightning speed, chaotic song structures and razor sharp vocals delivered with unparalleled conviction the black metal outfit has constructed a manifesto of self ascension, absolute hatred of organized religion, and total contempt for the enslaved modern man that feeds at the trough of mediocrity with every waking breath. The destruction and rebuilding of humanity is the only cure for the cancer known as mankind. No Scene No Brotherhood No Remorse.

German black metal mavericks Krater reveal new video

Today, German black metal mavericks Krater reveal a new video for “Prayer for Demise.” The track hails from the band’s critically acclaimed fourth album, Venenare, released this past November via Eisenwald. See & hear Krater‘s”Prayer for Demise” video its entirety here:
A study in patience and progress, Krater formed in 2003. In the band’s earliest days – across two demos, two splits, and 2006’s debut album, Das Relikt des Triumphes – the Krater sound tended more toward pagan black metal, but powerfully so. Come 2008, however, a period of silence and self-reflection followed…

When at last those sounds arrived, Krater had taken on a new form: one partly tied to their earlier traditionalism, another more so modernized. This burst-chrysalis came in the shape of 2011’s Nocebo, and following yet another lineup shake-up, 2016’s masterful Urere, courtesy of current label home Eisenwald. However, with these still-poignant albums as the foundation, Krater have now delivered their magnum opus with Venenare.

A 50-minute work broken into nine songs but unified as one winding, widescreen composition, Venenare shows Krater at the height of their all-too-considerable powers, a blinding and windswept vortex of sumptuous songcraft and passionate execution. Motifs slice and dice, blast and race with a grace that’s simply stunning, as melodic counterplay runs riot with a proud ‘n’ powerful assertion of classic metal sensibility. Krater‘s contours here undeniably exude a sleek and urban quality, but with abstracted hints of their pagan past subtly woven in to the soundfield, the result is staunchly second-wave black metal bravely recast for the 21st century. Venenare is thus timeless, yet forward-thinking all the same.

With cover artwork courtesy of Misanthropic-Art and mixing & mastering handled by Esoteric’s Greg Chandler, Krater have gone full-force to deliver a great work for the ages with Venenare. The only hurdle is resisting its spellbinding pull…

Colorado black/death cult Black Curse premiere new track

Today, Colorado black/death cult Black Curse premiere the new track “Enraptured by Decay”. The track hails from the band’s highly anticipated debut album, Endless Wound, set for North American release on April 24th via  Sepulchral Voice Records.
Hear Black Curse‘s “Enraptured by Decay” in its entirety here:
Formed in 2015, Black Curse is the focused will of death-obsessed fanatics. Physically residing in Denver, the band is comprised of various members of other cults responsible for the outside attention the city has gained in recent years. Black Curse has grown slowly over the years, changing form several times. The band has a meticulous writing process, wrought with intention and focus, that demands reflection. With this in mind, they chose to let the material take shape over years of creative effort, evolving into a fully realized vision of something powerful and succinct.

Combining ripping, violent rhythms with razor-sharp riffing and trancelike pulses, Black Curse creates true malevolence. The band rips open (un)holy portals to times when black and death metal shared the same principalities, the same aesthetics, and the same diabolical wrath.

Produced with the heaviest sound possible, Endless Wound crushes into the world like the spawn of primordial chaos. Herein, Black Curse crawl on the darkest lava fields of doom, revel in the infernal storms of death, and levitate in the utmost black.

Although the album is marked by an extraordinarily savage execution and a grand violent production, it still allows a honest homage/praise of the elder gods. The sound calls back to the most extreme and evil American acts joined (in darkness) with the barbarity and mysticism of Finnish, German, and South American cults. This combination of what came before filtered through a distinct and unique vision makes Black Curse and Endless Wound relevant in the today’s death/black metal scene.

US Black metal collective RITUAL CLEARING set release date for ETERNAL DEATH debut EP, reveal first track

Today, Eternal Death sets April 24th as the international release date for Ritual Clearing‘s striking debut EP, self-titled Ritual Clearing, on cassette tape format.

The solitary collective known as Ritual Clearing has been refining their craft since the earliest days of 2019, relentlessly pushing their sonic depravity while seeking the most effective means by which to spread their otherwise seclusive screed to the world. Now, in 2020 (with the assistance of kindred spirits Eternal Death), Ritual Clearing has deemed their reclusive message ready to infect the masses. While paying proper homage to essential Swedish black metal bands of yore (Bathory, Sacramentum, Lord Belial), Ritual Clearing also showcases their ingenuity as they concoct a seething contrivance of darkness and isolation. Melodic yet cutting, Ritual Clearing serve to ignite the spark necessary to usher in the new gods, while acknowledging the aural firmament of the old.

Finnish black metal firebrands Curse Upon a Prayer premiere new track

Today, Finnish black metal firebrands Curse Upon a Prayer premiere the new track “Haram”. The track hails from the band’s highly anticipated third album, Infidel, set for international release on April 10th via Saturnal Records. Hear Curse Upon a Prayer‘s “Haram” in its entirety here:
Despite the censoring acts and overall spinelessness of this day and age, Curse Upon a Prayer returns from northern Finland to conquer, kill, and turn the castles of this modern world into sand. Since forming in Tornio in 2010, the band have released two albums – From The Lands of Demise in 2014, and Rotten Tongues in 2015 – and the especially well-received The Three Woes EP in 2018. That EP hastened Curse Upon a Prayer‘s feverish momentum on the live front, where the band gained no small amount of recognition for manifesting their strongly anti-Islamic themes in multiple Quran desecrations.

But at long last, Curse Upon a Prayer deliver their masterwork: the aptly titled Infidel. With no hesitation nor self-doubt, these Finnish infidels have taken another giant step towards the gaping abyss here, a ruthless yet incredibly dynamic assault on the senses and spirituality. No page of the Quran is left unburnt on Infidel: from quintessentially nasty Finnish-style black metal to somber acoustic sections, Curse Upon a Prayer‘s third album ranges a vast spectrum of searing sonics. While flagrant blasphemy is at the core of the band’s being, the artistry across Infidel is undeniable; Curse Upon a Prayer are working within a rarefied field for black metal, and their truly unique character has come to the fore on this seamless song-cycle. Indeed is Infidel threaded together like one massive work, throttling the listener with filthy physicality one minute and haunting their dreams the next, and each of these nine songs reveal deeper, darker truths across the album’s compact yet incredibly satisfying 36 minutes. Allah-raping has never sounded better…

Hasten to prayer, all ye whose lungs breathe fire! Hasten to damnation, all ye true Infidels! Behold the instigating torch hereby known as Curse Upon a Prayer‘s Infidel!

Behold the first torch with the previously revealed “Al-Masih ad-Dajjal” HERE at the Black Metal Promotion YouTube channel.
