Midden are a new entity hailing from the West Coast of the United States. They feature within their ranks guitarist Draak, whose prior bands include Tare, who released a tape via Eternal Death in 2014, during the early days of the label.
Naturally for Eternal Death, Midden play harsh & raw black metal in the purest manner: no hope, no light. The band’s first public recording, Demo 2023 features six songs within 28 minutes of cold & cruel obsidian. True to their word, Midden is an ode to the remnants of the human blight. It looks both inward and outward, infatuated with the destruction of self and the crumbling of the scourge that is collective humankind. Demo 2023 swiftly accomplishes that, with sounds at once hammering and desolate, spiraling out of control into the abyss and austerely navigating its orbit. True ancient-days BLACK METAL, not for trendy ears – herald the beginning of Midden!
