French speed metal cult Sacrifizer stream the entirety of their debut mini-album

Today, French speed metal cult Sacrifizer stream the entirety of their debut mini-album, La Mort Triomphante – which is being released on December 13th via Dying Victims Productions on vinyl LP format . Enhanced with the band’s 2018 demo and one new track, the infernal majesty of La Mort Triomphante has now been expanded into full-length format.
Hear Sacrifizer‘s vinyl edition of La Mort Triomphante in its entirety here:
Originally released earlier this year on limited-edition CD and cassette, La Mort Triomphante was Sacrifizer‘s glorious burst from the underground. At five furious tracks and atmosphere-setting intro, La Mort Triomphante sounds much like its cover looks: icy yet fiery, galloping forward like evil invaders with a violent restitution. Indeed, Sacrifizer are 100% cult speed metal sewn from ancient Canadian cloth, but other fibers from ’80s France and Germany also comprise their patchwork of salacious speed and bestial devastation. Grounded in the more traditional end of speed metal, the quintet keep their songwriting focused and straightforward, maximizing hooks and never forgetting the eternal magick of a good guitar solo; even the production itself on La Mort Triomphante is era-authentic but never smacks of cheap retro-posturing. The same could be said for their debut demo, Night of the Razors, which is here amended to this special LP version. A bit more berzerker and dripping with diabolism, Sacrifizer early on indeed exuded some Morsüre vibes. “Morbid Envenomation,” the brand-new track exclusive to this vinyl LP, ends off the record with the band in full-on epic and EVIL mode, pointing the way toward Sacrifizer‘s inevitable debut album, which is bound to be a modern classic…soon!

Hard-rocking ultra-black speed metallers Bütcher premiere new video

Today, hard-rocking ultra-black speed metallers Bütcher premiere the new video “45 RPM Metal . The track is the first to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated second album, 666 Goats Carry My Chariot, set for international release on January 31st, 2020 via Osmose Productions. See & hear Bütcher‘s brand-new “45 RPM Metal” video in its entirety here:
Bütcher vocalist R Hellshrieker reports the following: “We are extremely proud to see the upcoming album taking its final twisted form. We have worked tremendously hard to make this a unique output in the overabundance of digitally altered releases. The sonic layers of analog mayhem that have shaped our identity on the first album were molded once again in the Voodoosound Studios, but this time with a clear focus. With the previous experience under our belt, there was far less need for experimenting with all the vintage equipment, and we took the opportunity to include every detail that accentuates the deeper layers of the songs. This brings it as close as possible to the vision that main songwriter KK Ripper and I intended for this LP.”
Continuing, he says, “The album was recorded in just one week, a very short timespan for an analog recording – where the title song, for instance, uses all 24 tracks on the tape! – and with LV Speedhämmer laying down the drums after only joining the band 1-2 weeks prior to the recordings. It was a turbulent period for the band, dealing with last minute line-up changes and constantly playing live shows during most of the year. But it has paid off – the album lives, it thrives, it breathes with vicious abandon, and it assaults the mind of the listener. One can almost taste the anger, the tenacity, the strength and the perseverance on this. In the face of adversity, the album was constantly playing in our heads, and KK Ripper has just pumped out riff after riff, lead after lead, the way he composed it. I turned my lungs into leather for this and screamed out all my frustrations. And now it is a victory for us to be able to present this full-length effort in its splendid glory.”

R Hellshrieker concludes: “With a sublime mastering by Arthur Rizk, this album seems to be played straight from mount Olympus, and granted both grandeur and destructive power by the thunderbolts of Zeus himself. The album flows from pure speed ‘n’ heavy metal over extreme thrash, to a black/speed/heavy metal hybrid on side B. To accompany our mixture of metal, there was only ever going to be the epic artwork of none other than Kris Verwimp.  To Bütcher, there is simply no better way to use that as the finishing touch for an Osmose release. We couldn’t have been more proud of the result. And the time for absolute vengeance, and our Second Prayer in service to the Godz of Steele, is nigh.”

Aforementioned cover art and tracklisting are as follows:

Canadian war metal cult Trajeto de Cabra stream Iron Bonehead Debut

Today, Canadian war metal cult Trajeto de Cabra stream the entirety of their striking debut album, Supreme Command of Satanic Will. Set for international release on December 13th via Iron Bonehead Productions, hear Trajeto de Cabra‘s Supreme Command of Satanic Will in its entirety here:
Hailing from the Canadian province of British Columbia, with psychic connections to the legendary Ross Bay Cult and featuring members of labelmates Necroholocaust, Trajeto de Cabra are verily a vortex of warring black/death energies, disgusting blackgrind given violently hypnotic flight through sheer Satanic will. Indeed, not for nothing is their long-brewing debut album titled as such: Supreme Command of Satanic Will says everything it needs to, no more but certainly no less.

Trajeto de Cabra‘s first cacophonous rumblings came in 2013, with the Antichrist Dominum demo and then a split album with now-labelmates Sacrocurse. Then, a five-year silence followed while the lineup was expanded to a quartet for a fuller and fouler sound. At last, that full foulness arrives with Supreme Command of Satanic Will, a seven-song/32-minute torrent of militant-yet-loose explosions of utterly unrelenting WAR METAL. But, let it be known that the nomenclature of “war metal” here is rooted in the far-less-populous and more nebulous days of the mid/late ’90s, when lone wolves seeking the secrets of chaos began clandestine explorations of the frayed ends of (in)sanity that linked black metal, death metal, and grindcore together – or torn apart, as Trajeto de Cabra vulgarly display here. Nearly everything across the rusted barbed-wire landscape of Supreme Command of Satanic Will spells a slipstream like no other: red-eyed and heaving violence ripped inside out, tension and terror bazooka-blown into the ether with cruel disregard for comfort or even comprehension, slashing seasickness shot out into the coldest reaches of the cosmos. The end here is infinite.

“In Fear of Saturn” begins the album, with “Heretic Terrorist” as its finale. Between these two iron-fisted poles resides the overwhelming totality of Trajeto de Cabra‘s Supreme Command of Satanic Will.

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
Tracklisting for Trajeto de Cabra’s Supreme Command of Satanic Will

2. The Final Gate

6. Blackened Hands Of The Impure
7. Heretic Terrorist

ANTIQ to release three-way split among DRUADAN FOREST, URUK-HAI, and BANNWALD – first track revealed

On February 2nd, 2020, Antiq is proud to present a special three-way split album among Bannwald, Uruk-Hai, and Druadan Forest. Jointly titled Kingdoms Long Gone, it shall be released on digipack CD and cassette tape formats.

With Kingdoms Long Gone, three esteemed projects join forces in an epoch-defining split album, the origin of which already dates back a whole year ago. Bannwald, Uruk-Hai, and Druadan Forest have put together their efforts to deliver what could well be considered a tribute to the dungeon synth subgenre itself. With styles ranging from film music to the purest form of video game OST, going through to medieval dark ambient and even medieval music, the three bands here are forging what can be considered a summation of dungeon synth’s stylistic rebirth as of late.

In addition to a classy digipak, Kingdoms Long Gone will also be available as a tape, as yet more of a tribute to dungeon synth’s aesthetic origins. A coherent split though the variety of bands here – with Bannwald delivering three tracks, Uruk-Hai delivering two, and Druadan Forest with one 19-minute epic – Kingdoms Long Gone poignantly encapsulates the influence of black metal in ambient musics, and could very well shape its future. And, to conclude a truly unique and immersive experience, the front cover was created by Marine Février (Arsule).
Antiq is a label dedicated to the fully coherent concept of making music through sound, image, video, and attitude. They have been putting their entire existence into it since 2009. Over the years, Antiq have been identified as producers of not only perfectly coherent lyrics and themes through music, but also conceptual art and, of course, the manufacturing of beautiful objects. The label tries as much as it can to work with French creators, and if possible, with the smallest and most serious structures.

In the meantime, hear Bannwald‘s brand-new track “Fortress I” here:
Aforementioned cover art and tracklisting are as follows:

Tombs sign to Season of Mist and premiere new song

Tombs sign to Season of Mist and premiere new song

Season of Mist are proud to announce the signing of Brooklyn black metal formation TOMBS. The band will release their new EP ‘Monarchy of Shadows’ on February 28, 2020. The first self titled track is now streaming
TOMBS mastermind Mike Hill comments: “I’ve been a huge fan of Season of Mist for years, so I feel honored for TOMBS to be joining the label. The rest of the guys share the same sentiments. ‘Monarchy of Shadows’ is a full on display of the new era of the band. Ferocious, brutal, but with an intense introspection. This is the best work that we’ve done to date.”
The cover artwork for ‘Monarchy of Shadows’ was created by Valnoir and can be found below, together with the tracklist.
Tracklist
1. Monarchy of Shadows (07:32)
2. Once Falls the Guillotine (04:44)
3. Necro Alchemy (05:47)
4. Man Behind the Sun (06:02)
5. The Dark Rift (05:58)
6. Path of Totality (Midnight Sun) (04:44)
Total: 0:34:47
Brooklyn black metal formation TOMBS has emerged with the next chapter in the band’s impressive catalog and growing legacy, ‘Monarchy of Shadows’. The EP features six brand new songs on which the four piece is bristling with a combination of ages-old anger and newfound energy.

Formed in the gritty corners of pre-gentrified Brooklyn, NY, in 2007, TOMBS’ early mandate was steeped in the harshness and atonality of black metal but dosed with trace amounts of the varied influences and inspirations ingrained in founder Michael Hill’s musical muscle memory by previous bands (VERSOMA).

Those early years delivered splits and singles, the highly revered ‘Winter Hours’ debut in 2009 and Decibel’s 2011 Album of the Year, ‘Path of Totality’. Never one to sit still, ‘Path of Totality’ was followed by appreciable and impressive amounts of touring in accordance with the lauding afforded by critics and fans and the braying of foes, which only served as fuel for Hill’s perseverance.

‘Savage Gold’ came three years later after which a restless Hill began nudging TOMBS’ black metal base into territories populated by gothic and death rock artists like FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM and SISTERS OF MERCY as well as avant-garde purveyors Caspar Brotzmann and LIVE SKULL while never forgetting – or being able to – scrape the grime of NYC from under his fingernails. The addition of a second guitar and live keyboards/samples brought a fuller sound and allowed noise sequences and soundscapes to be brought to the live show.

It was around the time of 2016 ‘All Empires Fall’ EP that TOMBS punctuated its iconoclastic spirit and thought process. A one album stint in 2017 under the Metal Blade banner birthed ‘The Grand Annihilation’ into the world where TOMBS took broader and more daring steps into buffering black metal with morose melody, sullen death rock and classic Metallica chugging.

Signing a new record deal with Season of Mist, and working with a new line-up featuring drummer Justin Spaeth, guitarist Matt Medeiros and bassist Drew Murphy, the EP marks the start of a new chapter in the band’s history. ‘Monarchy of Shadows’ further twists black metal’s DNA around dank emotional corners, psychological turmoil and the urban underbelly.Links

Necronomicon release NSFW video for ”The Thousand Masks”

Necronomicon release NSFW video for ”The Thousand Masks”

Canadian blackened death metal masters NECRONOMICON  premiere their horror-fueled music video for the song, “The Thousand Masks.”
The track is taken from the band’s latest record, ‘UNUS,’ which was released this October via Season of Mist. The NSFW video, which serves as a cautionary tale of why you shouldn’t mess with the grimoire, can be seen below.
Speaking of the video, Rob ‘The Witch’ comments: “Over 30 years ago we started a project called Necronomicon writing about H.P. Lovecraft mythos and with time passing, we decided to pay homage to the origin of our name and fully embrace it. The stars are aligned the time is right to reveal the many forms under “The Thousand masks”.
The album cover and the tracklist of ‘UNUS’ can be found below. The cover art has been created by Simon Bossert.
Tracklist
1. From Ashes into Flesh  (04:23)
2. Infinitum Continuum (05:27)
3. Paradise Lost (04:55)
4. The Price of a Soul (01:56)
5. Singularis Dominus (04:50)
6. The Thousand Masks (03:20)
7. Ascending The throne of Baator (04:54)
8. Fhtagn (01:59)
9. Cursed MMXIX  (04:13)
10. Vox Draconis (04:13)
Total playing time: 0:40:10
Montreal’s premier blackened death metallers are back with ‘UNUS’, the crushing and cinematic follow up to 2016’s ‘Advent of the Human God’. With each record NECRONOMICON has created in the span of their 31-year career, the band has steadily evolved in both sound and power; ‘UNUS’ is no exception to this.

Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s legendary grimoire, NECRONOMICON formed in 1988 by founding guitarist and singer Rob “The Witch” in the deep, northern part of Canadian province Quebec, Fjord of Saguenay. Since then, the band have carefully released each full-length without haste, allowing them to perfect every nuance before unleashing their sonic assaults upon the masses. In 2019, NECRONOMICON was presented with a certificate of honor for over 30 years of service via H.S. production/Tommy Tremblay, and the people of Saguenay Lac St Jean, making them the second band after VOIVOD to ever receive this honor.

‘UNUS’ is a searing cacophony of blistering riffs, machine-like drums, and a symphonic ambience, culminating in a sound that calls to various metal icons such as DIMMU BORGIR, SEPTICFLESH, BEHEMOTH, and DEICIDE. The record combines the furious elements of death metal with the orchestral prowess of black metal, creating the perfect synthesis of both genres. Standout tracks like “Paradise Lost” and “Singularis Dominus” only solidify NECRONOMICON’s ability to continuously produce high quality metal that’s just as dark and brutal as it is elegant.

IMPRECATION and BLACK BLOOD INVOCATION stream new HELTER SKELTER split album

IMPRECATION and BLACK BLOOD INVOCATION stream new HELTER SKELTER split album at “Decibel” magazine’s website

Today, Helter Skelter Productions (distributed & marketed by Regain Records) releases Diabolical Flames of the Ascended Plague, a special split album between America’s Imprecation and Greece’s Black Blood Invocation, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats..

Hear the brand-new Imprecation / Black Blood Invocation split album here:
Truly titled, Diabolical Flames of the Ascended Plague brings together two of the most bestial death metal cults of the modern era. Imprecation, of course, fought the good fight for most of the ‘90s, crafting a handful of now-classic EPs and demos that displayed their vision as being decades ahead of the game. Reinvigorated in 2009, Imprecation have only continued to get better and better, belying their veteran status as band: most their age wimp out, but not these Satanic Texas warlords! Here, they deliver two exclusive tracks (plus mystical outro) which hammer and slice, doom and dredge, whipping forth a maniacal warlust that’s as black and bewitching as it comes. Of especial note is a rerecording of the 1994 track “Emperor of Infernal Spirits,” which features guest vocals by Seth Decay of Ritual Decay and Morbus 666.
Not to be outdone, Black Blood Invocation likewise deliver three exclusive tracks (plus atmosphere-setting intro) that continue the malevolent momentum created by their preceding EP and demo. As such, their militantly pulsing blackgrind purports a uniquely Greek aspect, goatly and ominous and drawing down the moon. While influences of Archgoat and VON were indeed clear before, now are the duo setting upon more individualist ground, tantalizing the devout for their inevitable full-length debut.

With always classic artwork courtesy of the master Chris Moyen, Diabolical Flames of the Ascended Plague is a gutsfucking, middle-fingered statement of intent from the allied forces of Imprecation and Black Blood Invocation!

Aforementioned cover and tracklisting are as follows:
Tracklisting for Diabolical Flames of the Ascended Plague 1. A World Consumed in Fire
2. Swine Full of Maggots
3. Emperor of Infernal Spirits
4. Sigil of Lucifer

Chile’s INVOCATION set release date for new IRON BONEHEAD mini-album, reveal first track

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions announces February 21st, 2020 as the international release date for the highly anticipated mini-album of Chile’s Invocation, Attunement to Death, on CD and 12″ vinyl formats.

It was but the early autumn of 2018 when Invocation released The Mastery of the Unseen EP through Iron Bonehead. Although only two songs, The Mastery of the Unseen was presciently titled, for the power-trio made masterful strides since their debut CDR in 2016 and the extremely promising Seance Part. I demo released later that year. Exhibiting the same sulfurous energy as the first works but now displaying a uniquely feral poise, that two-song salvo set the stage for yet another presciently titled work: Attunement to Death.

Indeed, with Attunement to Death, Invocation are reaching a hellish harmony with their classic South American diabolism, but imbuing it with an ever-deeper – and ever-more-unique – aspect that bountifully displays their authentic grounding in the occult. In fact, one could argue that Attunement to Death is a clear ‘n’ cutting iteration of the Invocation aesthetic, robust and roiling and brimming with a confidence that betrays their still-young years as a band. And yet, for however well-recorded Attunement to Death might be (and executed with deadly precision by the band), there’s nevertheless a gritty, time-honored analog feel to Invocation‘s fiery ruminations. Hysteria begat possession previously, but now is offered transcendence for the willing listener/acolyte…

Open thine hearts and ears, then, and join with Invocation in their Attunement to Death! Begin opening thine hearts and ears with the brand-new track “Flying Ointments” here:
Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Invocation (Chile)’s Attunement to Death

DKBM stalwarts Blot & Bod stream new Iron Bonehead album

Today, DKBM stalwarts Blot & Bod stream the entirety of their highly anticipated second album, Ormekongens Argelist. Set for international release on December 6th via Iron Bonehead Productions, hear Blot & Bod‘s Ormekongens Argelist in its entirety here:
Blot & Bod is Jøran Elvestad and brothers Erik and Jesper Bagger Hviid – a Norwegian and two Danes. The trio serves in the new wave of DKBM under the Korpsånd banner, with members also taking part in such bands as Jordslået, Grifla da la Secta, War is Aer, BRODER and Ærekær. Just one year ago, the band released their debut album, Ligæder, on vinyl LP format through Iron Bonehead. Although it was initially released on cassette (as was their debut EP) through Fallow Field, this Iron Bonehead edition of Blot & Bod‘s debut album spread their name far and wide, proclaiming a new iron-fisted iteration of primitive black metal fury.

Wasting little time nor resting on any laurels, Blot & Bod intensify that iron-fisted iteration with a swift ‘n’ decisive second LP, Ormekongens Argelist. As every other release from the aforementioned Copenhagen scene, Ormekongens Argelist was recorded in a studio at the legendary venue Mayhem, ensuring clear-yet-cutting production that heightens Blot & Bod‘s bloodthirsty attack. From their mutual cultural heritage and through their respective native tongues, the power-trio have fully established a framework of Norse mythology, where they throw you deeper into head-first into their idiosyncratic battlefield. Just like on Ligæder, here the swords of both mind and body cross blades till they are worn down to grains and are ready to be forged back into shape.

No great changes take place across Ormekongens Argelist, nor should they: Blot & Bod have crafted a singular sound that’s reverent of black metal traditionalism but by no means is bound to it unnecessarily. Simply, their spiritual spectrum is more focused than ever, a joyously violent bounty of minimal-is-maximal songwriting executed (literally) with the fury and finesse of craftsmen quickly becoming cognizant of their boundless powers. And, just like that, within 30 minutes is Ormekongens Argelist concluded, and Blot & Bod emerge transcendent. Burn brightly, burn quickly, but never fade away…

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
Tracklisting for Blot & Bod’s Ormekongens Argelist
1. Skred
2. Hug
3. Åråd
4. Tæft
5. Hævd
6. Slid
