Cult icons TSATTHOGGUA to release lost ’90s recording through OSMOSE, reveal first track

Today, Osmose Productions sets August 28th as the international release date for a special mini-album from ’90s cult icons Tsatthoggua, Hallelujah Messiah, on CD and 12″ vinyl formats.

2020 shall once more bear witness to the release of one of the most bizarre acts in metal history. Tsatthoggua have unearthed some recordings of the earliest phase of the band from around 1995, when the immortal Tsatthoggua anthems like “Niemals Geboren” were descending into eternal darkness.

Material from the infamous demo tape Siegeswille meet the Abyss studio remixes, mastered by Swedish sound legend Mikael Hedlund. All these songs have been remastered in the Norwegian Paranoic Abyss studios by the magical hands of Gulnar.

The result is unbelievably heavy, explosive, and fast! All seven songs prove that these German weirdos have composed and recorded on a sensationally high level, far away from copying well-known acts. Speed and brutality are omnipresent when they unleash their Nietzsche- and hedonism-oriented hymns of hate and despise.

The outstanding artwork was created during the COVID-19 lockdown and quarantine in April 2020 by the Corona-infected vocalist North Wind and designer Silere Omnia.

A 22-minutes playing-time mini-album, on CD and 12″ vinyl: experience the roots of terror!

In the meantime, experience the terror of the “new” old track “Niemals Geboren”

GAEREA release third new track of forthcoming album

Cathartic black metal outfit GAEREA are now premiering the third brand new track which is taken from the bands upcoming full length ‘Limbo’! The new offering comes in the form of a beautiful music video, recorded in the streets of Porto. ‘Limbo’ will see the light on July 24.
GAEREA comment: “Shot in the ancient Streets of Porto, Gaerea’s birth city, CONSPIRANOIA is much more than just an agonizing and mesmerizing voyage into the Vortex’s own Depths. Completely filled with small Easter Eggs throughout the clip which I know very few will be able to spot, the Music Video for the third and last LIMBO single crosses the line, the natural border between Reality and the mere Perception inside our memories, “dejavus” and romanticizing adventures. This is Gaerea being trapped inside its own world. The Martyrs inside Limbo. “
GAEREA recently announced they will hit the road throughout Europe with HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY and SCHAMMASCH in January/February 2021. A full list of confirmed dates can be found below.

GAEREA is a black metal quintet from Portugal. Emerging in the beginning of 2016, the band released their first (self-titled) EP on November 11, 2016 through Everlasting Spew Records. The EP received many praises from the worldwide press, and it was not long before the first full length “Unsettling Whispers” (2018) was presented.

With that, GAEREA had the pleasure to perform and tour festivals in Europe and China, including performances with Jupiterian in April 2019 and a headlining Chinese tour in May 2019. The band already performed at festivals like SWR Barroselas Metalfest (PT), De Mortem et Diabolum (DE), Throne Fest (BE), Frantic Fest (IT), Eresia Metal Fest (IT), Amplifest (PT) and many more. During the fall of 2019, the band did an extensive tour with label mates NUMENOREAN under the Doomstar Bookings wing throughout Europe.

Are you finally ready for the tale of the Fallen Society and the journey to the vast Void, the only good in Life? Let us begin then. In the first hopeless circle, on too great and Undeniable Nothingness. WE ARE GAEREA.

THE FUNERAL ORCHESTRA stream long-awaited NUCLEAR WAR NOW! album

Today, Swedish doom cult The Funeral Orchestra stream their long-awaited second album, Negative Evocation Rites. Set for international release on July 15th via Nuclear War Now! Productions, hear The Funeral Orchestra‘s Negative Evocation Rites in its entirety here:
Considering its emergence approximately 18 years ago, The Funeral Orchestra’s body of recorded work is relatively sparse. However, rather than surrender to the temptation to equate quantity with quality, this enigmatic entity has instead opted to publish only the work that it deems fully deserving of its creative endeavor.

Cloaked in black robes and golden masks since 2002, The Funeral Orchestra released three demos prior to its 2003 debut album, Feeding the Abyss, which introduced its apocalyptic minimalist doom to a wider audience. That same year, the band made its first live performance in its native Gothenburg, Sweden, but not many in the local scene at the time understood its music or obscure doom atmosphere.

Since that time, it has released only a handful of splits, singles, and an EP, the latter of which contained two songs from a recording session that was intended to result in its second full-length. This album never came to be, however, due to a general dissatisfaction with the songs and sound captured at the time. Other attempts were subsequently made to meet or surpass the quality of Feeding the Abyss, but that goal was never met…until now.

In 2019, the Orchestra felt the correct timing and inspiration had coincided to reemerge for the purpose of producing a worthy successor to the original full-length and initiating a series of live performances. This new album, Negative Evocation Rites, was recorded in early 2020 in Studio Trauma and Abysmal Noise Studio in Sweden, with additional recording at an undisclosed location in Colorado, and it is slated for release on Nuclear War Now! Productions this July.
Those already acquainted with Feeding the Abyss will be certain to find that the band’s approach has not varied significantly from its original formula. That said, Negative Evocation Rites has somehow managed to present an even darker atmosphere than its predecessor, and one that appropriately reflects the bleak outlook for humanity in these uncertain times. Indeed, the band’s name is quite telling in this regard, as each of the four solemn hymns within serves as the perfect accompaniment to the funerary procession that one can easily envision chaperoning our species to its impending mass extinction.

In January 2020, the band returned to the stage for the first time in 17 years at the Orgivm Satanicvm festival in Oslo, Norway, and additional performances were booked during the year for Never Surrender III (Germany), In Flammen (Germany), and UK Deathfest, with more to be announced. Thus, like the virulent disease that it emulates, The Funeral Orchestra has arisen from its dormancy to portend the end times as it spreads its contagion worldwide.

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

1. Negative Evocations [12:42]
2. Flesh Infiltrations [7:49]

WAMPIRVS SINISTRVS set release date for HARVEST OF DEATH debut, reveal first track

Today, Harvest of Death, a division of Signal Rex, announces August 28th as the international release date for Wampirvs Sinistrvs‘ striking debut mini-album, Blood of the Vampyre, on single-sided 12″ vinyl format.

Otherwise new and otherwise mysterious, Wampirvs Sinistrvs hail from parts unknown. With such a moniker, it’s only suitable that the entity’s spiritual locale is some desolate castle, deep in the dungeon, residing in a coffin until the call of the night awakens its hunger and lust…

Indeed, Wampirvs Sinistrvs honor the ancient ways of ’90s black metal vampirism, back before circus clowns ruined anything qualified as “vampiric” – when revered cults like France’s Vlad Tepes and America’s Black Funeral held sway over the diehard and dedicated. Blood of the Vamprye, as such, is thusly ruinous nostalgia ripped asunder: it seeks to supplant the rosiness of remembered times for ones rife with rot, decay, and general antagonism. This is utterly grim, remorselessly raw BLACK METAL for those who still march to the black holocaust and the throne of the beast – for those lost in time, out of time, their thirst for blood unquenched. That the record is thematically inspired by the 1922 expressionist film classic Nosferatu, Eine Symphonie des Grauens further underlines its exquisitely mildewed nature.

Wampirvs Sinistrvs is not a diamond in the rough, but will stay unknown – drink deeply of their Blood of the Vamprye while you can!

Austrian deathrashers Deathstorm premiere new track

Today, Austrian deathrashers Deathstorm premiere the new track “Human Individual Metamorphosis”. The track hails from the band’s highly anticipated fourth album, For Dread Shall Reign, set for international release on July 31st via Dying Victims Productions. Hear Deathstorm‘s “Human Individual Metamorphosis” in its entirety here:
A veritable institution by now, Deathstorm have been flying the flag of hate for a decade now, releasing albums on such well-regarded labels as I Hate and High Roller. Deathstorm delivered a swift ‘n’ sweet EP for Dying Victims titled The Gallows in 2015, and now the power-trio return to the label for their most intense and varied recording yet, For Dread Shall Reign.

Without doubt, the spectre of classic Kreator looms large over Deathstorm still – and why should it not, when you’re doing deathtrash this devastating? – but with For Dread Shall Reign, the band bring forth a whole host of equally classic contours. From very old Metallica to equally old Slayer on to ‘80s Death and especially Demolition Hammer, Deathstorm here hammer out riffs, riffs, RIFFS! But, unlike so much thrash that haphazardly seeks to simply catalog riffs in disservice of the song, these Austrian veterans thread their enviable arsenal into hard-charging, headbanging juggernauts of immediately memorable metal-mania manna. There’s nothing fancy here, no concessions toward “maturity” or “crossover” or other euphemisms for watering-down their already-heady brew; for Deathstorm, heavy metal is the law, and For Dread Shall Reign honors this noble ideal pairing strong songwriting with a tight ‘n’ brutal production favorably reminiscent of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Because Deathstorm aren’t broken – so don’ fix ‘em!

Social criticism, serial killers, cults, anti-religion, war…all this is grist for Deathstorm’s lyrical mill. What they spit out is supreme DEATH-fucking-THRASH of the highest order, because in these troubled times, For Dread Shall Reign!

Finland’s FRONT reveal first video for new IRON BONEHEAD mini-album

Today, Finnish war-machine Front reveal the new video “Venom & Salt.” The track hails from the band’s highly acclaimed new mini-album, Antichrist Militia, released June 5th via Iron Bonehead Productions. See & hear Front‘s “Venom & Salt” video in its entirety here:
Guitarist/songwriter Von Bastard states: “As we made the Antichrist Militia record by ourselves all the way – produced, engineered, recorded, mixed – we wanted to try if we could pull out a video also. We didn’t want to do another mindless and easy lyric video with few still images looping around mindlessly like the trend is today. We wanted to do the video in an old-school way, and I think we captured that spirit. The video was made with zero budget, DIY all the way. It really is an honest attempt, despite its warts and all. It was clear to us that the place where to shoot the video should be in the very same place where the record was created.”

“This song is an all-out attack on sheep mentality spread by Abrahamic religions. Their ignorance shall be reduced to ashes and scattered into the scorched ground with all the venom and salt!” vocalist/lyricist Kaosbringer rasps out.

Listen to Antichrist Militia in its entirety HERE at Front‘s Bandcamp. CD and 12″ vinyl versions of Antichrist Militia are out now on Iron Bonehead. Tape versions coming later this summer/autumn via Von Wolfsblood and Funeral Hymns (exclusively in North America) and Davao Hellbangers (exclusively in Asia). Official T-shirts for a limited time only and exclusively from Saturnal Records HERE.

BLACK FUNERAL stream new IRON BONEHEAD album

Today, legendary American black metal cult Black Funeral stream the entirety of their highly anticipated tenth album, Scourge of Lamashtu.
Set for international release on July 3rd via Iron Bonehead Productions, hear Black Funeral‘s Scourge of Lamashtu in its entirety here:
By now, Black Funeral require no introduction. One of the very first American black metal bands, Black Funeral have been long led by the magickal hand of Michael Ford AKA Akhtya Nachttoter, who has concurrently garnered international respect as a leading author on Luciferianism and occultism. Although many lineups have come and gone since the band’s pioneering days of the mid ’90s, Black Funeral found its strongest formation yet with Ankou and the Death Fire – released in 2016 by longtime fans Iron Bonehead – which includes Drowning the Light mastermind Azgorh Drakenhof handling guitar, bass, and keyboards. Two years later followed the mini-album The Dust and the Darkness, also courtesy of Iron Bonehead, showing that this partnership truly brimmed with the fires of creation…and destruction.

Now arrives Scourge of Lamashtu, a Black Magickial sonic invocation of the Seven Udug-hul, Vampyric Deities and Lil-demons of ancient Babylonia. May our kišpe (witchcraft) call forth acasual and abyss-dreaming powers and the pandemonium of Lamashtu, Pazuzu, Nergal, lilû, lilitu, kiskilili and vampyric demonic dead, the emmu. Black Funeral aligns in a underworldly wave of cacophonic disharmony uniting cold black metal with dark ambient soundscapes composed from sounds of desert winds, sands, wilderness, mountains, storms, owls, wolves, and ravens to authentically represent the demons, deities, and ghostly dead within this album.

Black Funeral opens ancient, sand-worn tombs and reconstructs the rituals of kaššaputu (sorcery, black magic), demonology, and vampyrism of the Neo-Assyrian, Neo-Babylonian, and the Ur III (Sumerian) periods of Mesopotamia. The entirety of this recording is centered around malefic demons, rebel-deities, and the vampyric ghosts which still haunt this world. Incantations and spells translated from 8th Century B.C.E. Akkadian compose the core of lyrics. The Seven Udug-hul (utukku) Demons and rebel gods are structured in incantations of seven names, interconnected with Lamashtu, Lilith, and the malicious types of Udug-hul (translating “evil,” “hul” is also formerly spelled as “xul”) demons whose number is legion and drinks the blood (and souls) of human prey.

Boundless, eternal, defiant as ever: Black Funeral call forth the Scourge of Lamashtu!
