BYYRTH set release date for new IRON BONEHEAD mini-album, reveal first track

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions sets October 18th as the international release date for a special new mini-album from ByyrthCold Autumn Shadows, on CD and 12″ vinyl format. The release will coincide with this year’s edition of the Iron Bonehead / Nuclear War Now!-curated Never Surrender Fest, set to take place on October 19-20 in Oakland, California.

Following on from their critically acclaimed second album, Echoes From the Seven Caves of Blood, here on Cold Autumn Shadows do Byyrth continue to strike a new, frightening face for vampiric black metal. More effortlessly than before do they eschew the withering frivolity and frivolousness of most definitions of anything “vampiric” in regards to black metal: this Californian quartet kick in quickly with a ripped-raw and unrepentantly punkish attack. Blown-out and harshing everyone’s mellow, each iron-fisted anthem of theirs marches forward with absolute arrogance and an enviable swagger, but true to this mini-album’s title, Cold Autumn Shadows indeed imparts a newfound melancholy for Byyrth that’s equally potent.

Make no mistake, though: Byyrth‘s vampirism is an indomitable variety, the alpha to everyone else’s omega. And once again, they accomplish their sanguinary goals with an almost militant efficiency: Cold Autumn Shadows imparts dark medieval times in a compact 26 minutes, swirling the listener into a lysergic haze of ancient-days mysticism. Somehow more brittle but emboldened, this is the sound of Byyrth spreading black leathery wings of doom ever wider…

Feel that black-leather embrace with the new track “Parasitic Twin” here:
Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

1. Infernal Abomination
2. Cold Autumn Shades

REIGN IN BLOOD stream IRON BONEHEAD comeback album

Today, German black metal sorcerors Reign in Blood stream their long-awaited comeback album, Missa Pro Defunctis, . Set for international release on August 16th via Iron Bonehead Productions, hear Reign in Blood‘s Missa Pro Defunctis in its entirety here.
Staunchly German, Reign in Blood formed in Saxony in the dark days of 2004. Largely steered by founding vocalist/guitarist Demon Raise and drummer Athanasius, the band soon assaulted the black metal underground with a demo, a split, and an EP, all between 2006-2007. Then, in 2009, came Reign in Blood‘s cult debut album, Diabolical Katharsis, and they then seemingly receded into the shadows, as violently as they originally burst forth from them.

Athanassius and bassist Asuras left Reign in Blood to focus on their own projects, and Demon Raise was unable to celebrate the band like in the early days because of personality reasons. Demon Raise and fellow guitarist Deus made a decision to put the band on ice for an indefinite time – but the impulse to create music again never died. And so, at the end of 2016, Reign in Blood began rehearsing again. In short time, it was clear that a new album must be made.

Alas, longtime fans Iron Bonehead are honored to hoist the banners of Reign in Blood‘s surprise comeback with the LONG-awaited second album, Missa Pro Defunctis. Truly “old-soul black metal,” there is nothing trendy nor nice about Reign in Blood‘s attack here: featuring both ultraviolence and melody, hammering primitivism and fleet-footed complexity, haunting atmospheres and dizzying delirium, Missa Pro Defunctis is an album of stark contrasts that somehow is threaded together with the most elusive ‘n’ sulfurous magick.

Fittingly recorded at Old Spirit Studio with mixing & mastering courtesy of the esteemed Patrick Engel at Temple of Disharmony, Reign in Blood‘s return also elusively locates a soundfield that’s both rudely raw and clear, cutting, and nuanced in a disarmingly professional manner – again, further underlining how elusive and sulfurous these Germans’ magick is. Indeed, this is defiant German black metal that could’ve been released at the dawn of the new millennium, when the BM underground was still a dangerous entity, and here are Reign in Blood to regain their rightful throne. All hail!

War metal machine Cult of Extinction streams Iron Bonehead Debut

Today, war metal machine Cult of Extinction streams the entirety of its striking debut album, Ritual in the Absolute Absence of Light. Set for international release on July 19th via Iron Bonehead Productions, hear Cult of Extinction‘s Ritual in the Absolute Absence of Light in its entirety here:

The devastating force known as Cult of Extinction was evoked from the abyss in 2017 by sole member Void. Influenced by bands like Revenge, Blasphemy, and Proclamation, the goal was to create a merciless onslaught of pitch-black war metal with a mystical and eerie atmosphere. In 2018, the first demo Black Nuclear Magick Attack was released via Sentient Ruins and Atavism Records. Here, the songs were driven by a fascination with the infinite chaos of the cosmos and Void’s attempt to capture its destructive essence.

And indeed, with Ritual in the Absolute Absence of Light does Cult of Extinction accomplish that lofty goal. Utterly CRUSHING in its sonic excesses, uniquely, there exists a paradoxically ethereal feel across the album’s eight-song/33-minute span. It’s a savagely twisted disconnect that truly puts Cult of Extinction in a league of its own: undeniably “war metal” by definition, no longer is Void totally tethered to those aforementioned influences and instead creates a multi-dimensional maelstrom of inexorable might. Also of note are the hauntingly stretched-out lead-guitar parts, further exploring that ethereal-onto-crushing aspect. Consequently, the lyrics across Ritual in the Absolute Absence of Light are inspired by the dark forces of nature and propagate a total war against light.

Behold the triumph of darkness!

Denial of God and Black Oath members join in THE RITE – set release date for IRON BONEHEAD debut, reveal first track

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions sets August 2nd as the international release date for The Rite‘s striking debut mini-album, The Brocken Fires, on CD and 12″ vinyl format.

The Rite was brought into existence during the autumn 2017 when A.Th (Black Oath) and Ustumallagam (Denial Of God) joined forces to create a band playing morbid black metal exclusively praising complete and utmost darkness. Influences range from iconic bands such as Mercyful Fate, Death SS, Celtic Frost, Samael, Goatlord, Ripper etc, and the music walks a twisted balance between slow, dreary parts and fast, merciless attacks.

The five-track mini-album The Brocken Fires was finished in August 2018 and originally released on cassette by Unholy Domain Records in October 2018. Now, on August 2nd, 2019 will the mini-album be released by Iron Bonehead on CD and 12″ vinyl formats. Both a summation of The Rite‘s aesthetic so far and also pointing the way forward, The Brocken Fires is a commanding introduction to this international entity.

In July 2019, The Rite will perform their debut show at Denmark’s own Metal Magic Festival. For that occasion, the band will release the very limited promo tape The First Sin that will only be available at that event and feature two good-sounding rehearsal tracks from the upcoming, as-yet-untitled debut album. The recording for said album is scheduled for autumn 2019.

In the meantime, hear the new track “A Pact With Hell”
Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Black Metal Mystics Ringarë stream IRON BONEHEAD debut album

Today, black metal mystics Ringarë stream the entirety of their highly anticipated debut album, Under Pale Moon. Set for international release on March 8th via Iron Bonehead Productions, hear Ringarë’s Under Pale Moon in its entirety HERE:

Originally going by the moniker Ringar, Ringarë was forged in early winter anno MMIV as pure worship of synth-ridden black metal of the early ’90s. Hours of material was composed and recorded, including a debut full-length that later would be torn apart for Chaos Moon’s Languor into Echoes, Beyond while the remainder of the never-released Ringarë debut slept in shadow for nearly 14 years. Early 2018 saw the rediscovery of these missing pieces, now with refined vision and execution.

Indeed, true to mainman Esoterica’s word, Ringarë’s Under Pale Moon is a refined and exceptionally executed slice of synth-drenched black metal classicism. Under the moon in the Scorpio does this second-wave mysticism lay, beholding the sad realm of the stars while waiting entree into a grand psychotic castle. But, for however ’90s-entrenched Ringarë’s ruminations may be, there’s a keenly nuanced and, above all, wholly authentic aura to this mysticism that ably adds to black metal’s rich ancient language rather than merely paying lip service to it. Its four songs drown the listener in an impossibly foggy, deliriously velveteen experience that renders the 40-minute journey one that’s paradoxically longer, so engaging and bewitching is its moonlit magick.

The past is forever alive, and the journey with Ringarë begins Under Pale Moon. Experience that journey in its entirety HERE:

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Ringarë’s Under Pale Moon
1. Under Pale Moon [10:16]
2. Sorrow Under Starry Sky [6:48]
3. In Nocturnal Agony [3:55]
4. Through Forest and Fog [18:12]

DEATHWOMB set release date for IRON BONEHEAD debut, reveal first track

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions sets April 19th as the international release date for Deathwomb‘s striking debut album, Moonless Night Sacraments, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Spain, Deathwomb are ancient black metal personified. Theirs is a sound at odds with the modern world, brewed in the cauldron of simpler, more idealistic, and most definitely more underground times. With but a four-song demo from 2017 as their previous recording, this power-trio proves their Satanic worth with their first full-length, Moonless Night Sacraments.

Ever aptly titled, Moonless Night Sacraments conjures the lycanthropic spirit of ’90s black metal’s crudest proponents, lurking largely in Finland, North America, and Brazil. Doubtlessly physical in their profane ruminations, it’d be a gross misnomer to label Deathwomb as “bestial,” at least in the more post-millennial definition. Rather, the swarming, oft-swampy surge they employ across Moonless Night Sacraments – suffused with mystical synth, most crucially – bears aesthetic kinship with ’90s Demoncy, Havohej, and Black Funeral, early Mystifier, and of course, Beherit’s landmark Drawing Down the Moon. Naturally, Deathwomb strive to add to this (un)hallowed canon rather than merely replicate it, so authentic is their (unholy) passion.

As modern life justifiably grinds to a halt, time stands still as Deathwomb offer you Moonless Night Sacraments…partake at your own peril. Begin partaking with the new track “The Ancient Serpent” here:
Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
Tracklisting for Deathwomb’s Moonless Night Sacraments
1. Tablets of Fire
2. Eternal Oaths of Chaos
3. The Primordial One
4. The Ancient Serpent
5. Moonless Night Sacraments
6. God’s Servant Laceration
7. Enochian Keys
8. Black Omen
9. Moloch’s Domain
10. The Chasm

GOATKRAFT set release date for IRON BONEHEAD debut album, reveal first track

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions sets March 22nd as the international release date for Goatkraft‘s highly anticipated debut album, Sulphurous Northern Bestiality, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Following a full year from the band’s rapturously received Angel Slaughter EP via Iron Bonehead, Goatkraft‘s
Sulphurous Northern Bestiality says everything it needs to in its title: chokingly sulphurous, beyond bestial in both form and content, and hailing from the northern climes of Norway, a country usually underrepresented in the bestial arts. The power-trio’s full-length debut hardly differs from its shorter predecessor, underlining the band’s commitment to their monochromatic muse, but offers a fuller and fouler expression of the Goatkraft vision.

Crude and rude and completely stripped bare of any remotely excessive adornment, Goatkraft are a study in stark, stultifying minimalism. Their punishing, primitivist surge hearkens back to the almighty Blasphemy, but truly finds its voice within the seething spite of Black Witchery; not for nothing did they conclude Angel Slaughter with a cover of that band’s eternal “Unholy Vengeance of War.” Barbaric black metal is again the order of the day on Sulphurous Northern Bestiality, dutifully redone with nuclear-powered panache, red-eyed and regimented, and a true devotee’s lust for pure form. Indeed, the purity of violence – rabid, roiling, righteous – doesn’t come more distilled and undiluted than
Sulphurous Northern Bestiality. Here continues the whirlwind of Goatkraft.

Reap the first whirlwind with the new track “Spell of Black Pestilence” here :
Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
Tracklisting for Goatkraft’s Sulphurous Northern Bestiality
1. Yawns from the Abyss
2. Hordes of Damnation
3. Goatkrafts Command
4. The Oath
5. Bestial Desecration
6. Imperial Hate
7. Spell of Black Pestilence
8. Invocation to the Lord of Huracanes
9. Blasphemous Sulphur Oppression
10. Deathblade of Plague and Torment
11. Volcanic Orthodox Necromancy
