Speed metallers Death Racer premiere the new track “Imola”

Today, literal speed metallers Death Racer premiere the new track “Imola”. The track is the third to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated debut album, From Gravel to Grave, set for international release on July 26th via Dying Victims Productions. Hear Death Racer’s “Imola” in its entirety here:

Hailing from Austria, Death Racer are nothing if not thorough. See, the idea for the band was born years ago while philosophizing during listening to Razor’s “Deathrace.”  From there, a wellspring of inspiration followed – and the race was on!

Death Racer’s debut demo, released in 2020, was appropriately titled Qualifying. Musically, their most important influence, maybe – rawness, straightforwardness, DRIVE – are the same qualities a racecar driver must possess. Without zero fucks given and a will to make devilish sacrifices at times, you were never able to hit the final laps back in the dangerous days of motorsports; a certain backwardness and nostalgia for those days is the most important ingredient overall for Death Racer. In their mind, post-apocalyptic / dystopian movies – with their totalitarian atmosphere and hostile approach against all life – are mirroring in perfect symbolism that of relentless racing.

And so they race forward, more relentless than ever, with their long-awaited debut album, From Gravel to Grave. Also perfectly titled, From Gravel to Grave presents Death Racer as an all-pistons-pumping runaway racecar, chassis gleaming but torched black with exhaust underneath, its very construction pushing the outer limits of safety before all the screws fall loose and a fiery wreck ensues. For sure, it’s not difficult to spot the Austrians’ influences, and they wouldn’t have it any other way – they are transparent as they are thorough, to circle back to the earliest point – so therefore, there’s the obligatory “High Speed Metal” of classic Razor as well as the comparable grit & grime of equally old, raw metal like earliest Slayer, Exciter, Bathory, Hungary’s Tormentor, Bulldozer, true-metal Darkthrone, cult NWOBHM, Violent Force, and of course, erudite Teutonic thrash.

Still, it’s how Death Racer revs this noble engine that matters most, not how familiar it is (because what ISN’T familiar now?!), and they sneak some nitrous into that engine in the form of hardcore punk attitude and otherworldly black metal atmosphere as well as some touches of chorused guitar from old deathrock. But again, From Gravel to Grave is thorough as it is (filthy) fun, so its lyrics deal with true incidents / accidents on the world’s most demanding and terrifying racetracks (“Nordschleife,” “Imola ’94”) as well as the terrors of “real life” inspired by newspaper articles (“C.F.S.O.D.C”) or just plain fantasy (“Motormentor,” “S.M. Death Worship”) and daily struggles (“Inverted Crossroads,” “Traumatized in Traffic Jam Ejection”). All told, filth and fury and FUN. Death Racer is at the wheel, and you’re going From Gravel to Grave at 666 mph!

IRON CURTAIN premiere new track, set release date for new DYING VICTIMS album

On February 16th, 2024 internationally, Dying Victims Productions will release Iron Curtain’s highly anticipated fifth album, Savage Dawn, on CD and vinyl LP formats. And today we premiere the new track “Gypsy Rocker.” Hear Iron Curtain’s “Gypsy Rocker” in its entirety here:

For nearly 20 years now, Spanish metal inquisition Iron Curtain have been stalwart defenders of the faith. With a discography that includes four full-lengths and twice as many EPs, splits, and demos, Iron Curtain’s ever-sturdy sound was forged in the fires of the early ‘80s: largely nodding to the eternal Motörhead as well as Tank, but also Canadian gods like Exciter and Razor, to the Teutonic might of early Iron Angel and Grave Digger, to Scandinavian gods OZ and Heavy Load, to cult American icons Abattoir and Savage Grace, and the shores of Britannia with the likes of Diamond Head, Raven, and Girlschool. And with the Dying Victims release of career highpoint Danger Zone in 2019, that sound’s become even more rocking than ever.

After a quick-hitting mini-album (again through Dying Victims) titled Metal Gladiator whereby the band presented the new alongside re-recordings of the old, Iron Curtain return to assume their throne with Savage Dawn. Doubtlessly (and vividly!) displayed by its photographic cover art courtesy of Daniel Rabandan, Savage Dawn is indeed a new dawn for Iron Curtain: a concerted return to their rough-hewn roots, only spit-shined with the gleaming chrome that’s come to define them in recent years. Thus does Savage Dawn exhibit a unique dichotomy: their ancient metal’s more juiced-up than ever, but the craggy edges come through in the content while the form is powerfully professional – “slick” only in the very best sense, with mixing by the esteemed Javi Félez (Teitanblood, Destroyer 666, Graveyard) and mastering by the equally esteemed Jaime Gómez Arellano (Ghost, Satan, Mayhem) providing that punch. As such, across these ten new tracks (anthemically presaged by “Rattlesnake” on Metal Gladiator, as vintage four-piece Motörheaded as it comes) do we hear Iron Curtain throw the likes of classic Riot, Jaguar, and Running Wild into their by-now-characteristic blender, with leads and melodies more soaring than ever.

Cool songs, catchy choruses, straightforward riffs, and pure HEAVY METAL with all killers and no fillers – what more do you need?! Iron Curtain drop the biggest sledgehammer with Savage Dawn!

Aforementioned cover artwork and tracklisting are as follows:

1. The Aftermath
2. Devil’s Eyes
3. Gypsy Rocker
4. Thy Wolf
5. Калашников 47

Sadistic Force Release Video For “Midnight Assassin”

Austin-based blackened speed metal band SADISTIC FORCE have unveiled a bloodcurdling video for “Midnight Assassin”. Taken from their latest album Midnight Assassin, the trio are inspired by true crime and 80s slasher films.

“Midnight Assassin is a record steeped in blood and terror,” Oliver says of the release. This comes as no surprise considering the source material. With songs inspired by serial killers, stalkers, and necrophiliacs, SADISTIC FORCE will transport listeners into a dark and twisted sonic arena that exposes the harsh realities of human depravity and violence.

Watch the video for “Midnight Assassin” here:

SADISTIC FORCE is a three-piece blackened speed metal band hailing from Austin, Texas. Formed in 2020 by lead vocalist and guitarist, James Oliver, the band serves as an outlet for the members to create proper, traditional heavy metal. The band doesn’t stop there, however. Combining the subgenres of speed metal, black metal, and thrash metal, SADISTIC FORCE synthesizes a singular auditory experience that feels both familiar and original.

In early 2021, SADISTIC FORCE released their first EP, Pain, Sex, and Rapture. The effort features founding member James Oliver and a mysterious percussionist known only as Hell Troll. Soon after, the duo would team up again for the band’s sophomore EP, Black Moon Sadism, and the digital single, “Lagoon of Doom.” Following these releases, Oliver scoured the Austin music scene for like-minded individuals to join his cause.

Soon after, bassist Blaine Dismukes and drummer Jose Alcaraz joined the project. Now a fully-fledged band, SADISTIC FORCE went on to record their first full-length album, Aces Wild. The effort was praised by metal outlets, with Metal Forces Magazine calling it “frenzied, scathing… all that heavy metal should be about.”  Just four months later, the three-piece combined their talents with Tijuana-based band HELLROT on an exciting 4-song split, aptly titled Sadistic Rot. The band then decided to take their impressive show on the road, performing everywhere from California to Scotland, before returning home to begin work on their second full-length studio album.

HELLCRASH premiere new track, set release date for new DYING VICTIMS album

On March 24th internationally, Dying Victims Productions will release Hellcrash’s highly anticipated second album, Demonic Assassination, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats. And today, we premiere the new track “Okkvlthammer.” Hear Hellcrash’s “Okkvlthammer” in its entirety here:

Despite forming in 2013 and a couple demos and a split over those first few years, it wasn’t until Hellcrash’s debut album, Krvcifix Invertör, where the band started to make a dark name for itself. Released on vinyl by Dying Victims in 2021, Krvcifix Invertör proved Hellcrash were a power-trio in the grand tradition of domestic legends Bulldozer, brewing  a similarly sleazy (and EVIL) style of speed metal. Simple but sublime it was, and diehards definitely took notice.

Now, two years later, arrives Hellcrash’s second album, Demonic Assassination. On first glance (and especially THAT COVER), it would seem that Hellcrash are sticking to their guns, sowing the same seeds as earliest Slayer, Venom, and of course Bulldozer. Peer deeper and this latest expurse of sodomy shows that there’s more – much more – to Hellcrash’s cauldron. Immediately, their attack’s more refined here: some would call it “cleaning up,” but the fine-tuning of songcraft and polishing of production have paid off in spades across Demonic Assassination. As such, there’s far more variation in that songcraft – sometimes more speed metal, other times more thrash, or even metalpunk before it was such a thing, often all in the same song – and Hellcrash ably finesse this transition with tighter execution that, thankfully, doesn’t sacrifice an ounce of energy. In fact, if there’s on guiding aspect here, it’s energy: while Hellcrash sometimes seem on the verge of self-combustion, so juiced-up is their rollercoaster sound, it all spills over into the listener as a celebration of filth, fury, and FUN. Could this be their The Final Separation? Perhaps…

Still sick, still sleazy, and definitely still crude & rude, Hellcrash are firing on ALL cylinders here, and not just the old ones. So, while the aforementioned references still apply, Demonic Assassination is equally recommended for maniacs of later GBH, Carnivore, Warfare, Crumbsuckers, and contemporaries Children of Technology.

Aforementioned cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Hellcrash’s Demonic Assassination
1. Intro
2. Volcanic Outburst
3. Okkvlthammer
4. Satan’s Crypt
5. Usurper of Hell
6. Abyss of Lucifer
7. Serpent Skullfuck
8. Finit Hic Deo
9. Graveripper
10. Demonic Assassinatiön

America’s DESTRUCTOR sign with SHADOW KINGDOM, prepare new album

Today, Shadow Kingdom Records announces the signing of legendary Cleveland speed/thrash metal band Destructor. A new album has been completed and will be ready to unleash in 2023. As usual, Shadow Kingdom will be doing all formats (vinyl, CD, cassette, t-shirt).

Destructor became an ’80s speed/thrash metal cult phenomenon with their cult-classic debut album, Maximum Destruction, from 1985. The album was raw and dirty, with a heavy dose of sinister riffs. The band back then was definitely listening to the evil sounds of Exciter, Metallica, Overkill, etc. They even shared the stage with these legendary bands – Anthrax, Slayer, and Megadeth among others – both opening up for them and headlining.

More news is going to follow regarding the new album on Shadow Kingdom, but we can tell you, without a doubt, that fans of Maximum Destruction will not be disappointed with this next offering. Almost 40 years since the debut and this band is still a relentless force of speed and destruction! For more info, consult the links below.

Satanic speed metallers Occult Burial premiere new track

Today, Satanic speed metallers Occult Burial premiere the new track “Pyramide de Tête Coupées”. The track is the second to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated second album, Burning Eerie Lore, set for international release on October 30th: Invictus Productions will release the album on CD and vinyl LP formats in Europe, Electric Assault Records and Stygian Black Hand will release the album on vinyl in the United States, and Temple of Mystery Records will be handling the CD and cassette tape versions for Canada. Hear Occult Burial‘s “Pyramide de Tête Coupées” in its entirety here:

It’s been four long years since Occult Burial released their widely celebrated debut album for InvictusHideous Obscure. Trickles of activity have teased the hordes, first with the two-song Skeletal Laughter 7″ and then a two-song digital promo bearing the title Burning Eerie Lore. Lo and behold, between these two releases, those hungry hordes would be able to sample and savor four salacious new songs that would form the foundation of their forthcoming second album, also bearing the title Burning Eerie Lore. Why the repeat of titles? Because it’s BURNING EERIE LORE – and it’s fucking mandatory early ’80s-style Satanic speed metal, just like it was before!

Lest anyone think Occult Burial are merely repeating themselves on LP#2, think again: Burning Eerie Lore is every inch an upratchet of their no-less-considerable debut album. More evil, more sleaze, more speed, more solos, more headbanging, more atmosphere, more of MORE – there’s simply no stopping this power-trio when alcohol gets in their engine and their cauldron starts bubbling. Whereas Hideous Obscure indeed invoked the more obscure corners of mid ’80s Germany, Brazil, and Canada, here on Burning Eerie Lore is the scuzzy, sepulchral focus squarely on earliest Bathory, Exciter, Venom, and even Iron Angel: black may be the attack still, but Occult Burial give poisonous nuance to tried-and-true HEAVY METAL above all, now more than ever. And the record just rips from beginning to end, the band banging it out with eight veritable anthems (plus obligatory mood-setting intro) that lodge themselves firmly within the cranium after the first spin…or sooner. Occult Burial don’t waste time!

The fight for Satanic speed metal supremacy continues, stronger each year, but Occult Burial have returned to assume their throne – and they bring you Burning Eerie Lore!

Begin burning some eerie lore with the previously revealed “Highway Through Borderland,” which can be heard HERE at Invictus‘ official YouTube channel, HERE at the label’s Soundcloud, and HERE at the Invictus Bandcamp.

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

SARCATOR reveal first track from REDEFINING DARKNESS debut – features the son of THE CROWN’s Marko Tervonen

Today, Swedish deathrash upstarts Sarcator reveal the new track “The Hour of Torment.” The track is the first to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated debut album, Sarcator, set for international release on October 30th via Redefining Darkness Records. Hear Sarcator‘s “The Hour of Torment” in its entirety HERE at Redefining Darkness‘ Bandcamp, where all formats can be preordered, as well as HERE on Spotify.

Upon listening to this album blindly, one would imagine a band of 30- or 40-something long-hairs that have been stalwarts of the metal scene since the early ’90s and have been doing it so long, they have the formula down to a pointed science. This is melodic Swedish death leaning heavy on its Teutonic German thrash origins so much so that it would make any Sodom fan smile from horn to horn…

But there’s just one catch: the rippin’ guitars you hear are being manhandled by a mere 16-year-old, while the eldest ranks in at a ripe old 20! We should also mention that it is no ordinary 16 year old: it just happens to be the son of Marko Tervonen of Swedish death greats The Crown! Now is this all beginning to make sense? While the other members fill the gap between the youngest and eldest at just 20 years old, this band has loads of promise…if they can just make it to graduation first!

Redefining Darkness is proud to bring you the debut album from Swedish death/thrash legends in-the-making, Sarcator! So pick your chin up off the floor, crank the stereo to 11, and let this band of Goonies take you on a thrash metal ride to Swedish death heaven!

In the meantime, hear the brand-new track “The Hour of Torment” HERE at Redefining Darkness Records‘ Bandcamp, where all formats can be preordered, as well as HERE on Spotify. Also see & hear a special trailer for Sarcator HERE at Redefining Darkness‘ official YouTube channel.

Black/speed/epic metal magickians Hexecutor premiere new track

Today, black/speed/epic metal magickians Hexecutor premiere the new track “Tiger of the Seven Seas . The track is the third to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated second album, Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge, set for international release on September 25th via Dying Victims Productions. Hear Hexecutor’s “Tiger of the Seven Seas” in its entirety exclusively HERE
It’s been four long years since Hexecutor released their shockingly masterful debut album, Poison, Lust and Damnation. The “shock” wasn’t so much that the French quartet came out of nowhere – indeed, they’d made waves in the underground with their debut demo in 2012 and especially the Hangmen of Roazhon EP two years later (which Dying Victims reissued on 12” vinyl in 2018, to meet demand) – but rather that there existed a band putting an undeniably authentic yet also unique twist on classic mid-‘80s speed metal and thrash. Hexecutor weren’t trying to reinvent language; they were simply trying to expand the lexicon a bit, and they did so with astonishing aplomb on Poison, Lust and Damnation.

But, now rested (and wild!), Hexecutor return with an even bolder record in their long-awaited second album, Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge. If its no-less-considerable predecessor pushed traditional tropes, Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge topples them altogether! It’s all recognizably Hexecutor – and immediately, charismatically so – but swirling in their cantankerous cauldron of old Slayer, Razor, Destruction, Sepultura, and Merciless is a passion for classic hard rock and heavy metal and coated in the feeling of Bathory’s Blood Fire Death and Manowar’s Into Glory Ride. Thus, this second strike is a much more EPIC one, all without striving to be “epic” in the pejorative sense. It’s all twisted with grace and gnarliness, in equal measure, as one will find filtered traces of Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep, Blue Öyster Cult, UFO, and even the Eagles as prominently as those of Deströyer 666, Absu, Gospel of the Horns, and Vomitor. Hexecutor even touch upon just-as-classic black metal and death metal mainstays as Morbid Angel, Sweden’s Dawn, and early Necrophobic, Darkthrone, Gorgoroth, and Satyricon…but again, simply hearing Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge is witnessing the band’s widescreen yet still-wild ways. Slowing down doesn’t mean wimping out, and diversity can be a wondrous thing when handled with care and class. In a word, magickal!

Then again, a recording as momentous Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge is underpinned by a deep and thoughtful thematic, relating directly to Hexecutor‘s homeland. Brittany is a peninsula located in the western part of France surrounded by the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. Its particularities come from its geographic characteristics and from a mix of different cultural influences throughout its history (Armorican, Celtic, French, etc.). Having been an independent kingdom and then ruled as a Duchy apart from France for centuries, Brittany has its own traditions and its own languages: Breton (finding its origins in Welsh and Cornish) and Gallo. The progressive evangelization of Brittany affixed Christianity onto the oldest pagan customs, leading to the development of a rich folklore in which magical powers of nature, spirits, sorcerers, korrigans, and the personification of entities such as death (well known under the name of Ankou) met with common religious figures and its popular antagonists: Satan, demons, and a countless amount of devils and malignant forces.

As heavy metal is a great medium to relate legends and epic stories, Hexecutor chose to glorify the beauty of their folklore with a concept album based exclusively on myths, factual history and fantastic tales kept alive by the oral tradition and collected by authors, folklorists, and poets such as Anatole Le Braz, Paul Sébillot, or François Cadic.

Each of the eight tracks on Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge (one being sung in French) is based on a specific local thematic: the White Lady of Trecesson, the ghost of a young lady buried alive in a wedding dress by her brothers for a reason that remained mysterious; the lost City of Ys, magically engulfed, and the unholy figure of Dahut, daughter of King Gradlon, banished under the waters of Douarnenez’s bay and turned into a siren for her carnal sins; a glorification of the heroism of the Saint-Malo privateer Robert Surcouf; an insight into the legend of the Agrippa/Ar Vif/Egremont/An Negromans, a book of spells signed by thousands of devils and marked by the hoof of Belzebuth himself, acting as a living entity with its own will, illustrated on the cover artworks (among other themes related to this album and to their past releases); the curse upon the two calvaries of Kerguh, called Cross of the undead, where, each night, a legion of damned spirits rise out of Hell and dance under the command of Satan; the tale of the plague personified in the form of an old woman travelling to the village of Camors to spread death…. “Brechelian” is an instrumental ode to the magnificent Paimpont forest. No words are needed since most legends attributed to this place depend on the historicity of King Arthur or came from marketing campaigns to attract tourists. Anyone that would spend a night here would feel its indescribable force and understand why this had to be instrumental.

It bears repeating that Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge is a momentous event, and it’s suitably graced with amazing artwork courtesy of Skelethal’s Jon Whiplash. Hexecutor here have delivered a modern classic!

CHILDREN OF TECHNOLOGY reveal first track from new HELLS HEADBANGERS album

Today, wasteland speed metalpunks Children of Technology reveal the new track “The New Barbarians.” The track is the first to be revealed from the band’s long-awaited third album, Written Destiny, which will be released this November by Hells Headbangers on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats. Complete with a gritty VHS-style video, hear Children of Technology‘s “The New Barbarians” in its entirety here:
It’s been six long years since Children of Technology released their now-classic second album, Future Decay, through Hells Headbangers. In that time, the Italian speed metalpunks have been busy cruising the post-apocalyptic wasteland, searching for ammo and gasoline. In the interim, they released a career-spanning collection of singles and splits, Apocalyptic Compendium – 10 Years in Chaos, Noise and Warfare, preparing for an even crueler future. Indeed, in these days of the Coronavirus pandemic, that future has arrived…

All the more fitting, then, that Children of Technology return to rule that wasteland with their third full-length, Written Destiny. The death squad firmly established by DeathLörd and Borys Crossburn (Barbarian) has seen the new entry of Dee Dee Altar (Bunker 66), thus shaping a power-trio in the most classic ’80s way. And compared to the COT’s already-considerable catalog, this Written Destiny dashingly and dangerously powers headlong into the ’80s underground, more resolutely upping the METAL in the crusty equation and spitting out eight new anthems that are equal parts gleam and grime. It’s almost as if the power-trio took their well-worn tank, scrubbed some of the rust off, and gave it an engine pumped full of nitrous; this album simply CHARGES! Not surprisingly, the band’s influences this time around are squarely focused on early Onslaught, Warfare, Venom, Anti-Cimex, Nuclear Assault, and Sacrilege UK – but what results is 666% Children of Technology, with a charisma that’s undeniable, and undeniably their own.

“Six years have passed since Future Decay,” says DeathLörd, “a long period of time busy with raids all across the wasteland to scrape fuel for our supplies and records for our collections. Still loyal to our roots, we keep walking the ridge between metal and punk, careless whether that’s trendy or not. With such a tight lineup, we have been able to deliver our most intense recordings ever. Harder. Faster. Stronger. Killer.”

Suiting for this occasion is absolutely godly cover art courtesy of Velio Josto (Riot, Enforcer, Cruel Force, Vulture, Ostrogoth). Likewise, the vinyl version will come with a bonus 7″ featuring an Onslaught cover and a reboot of an old demo song. If ever there was a time for Children of Technology to return to rule the wasteland (or whatever’s left of it), it’s NOW – because it’s Written Destiny!

A release date in November is expected, but will be confirmed shortly. Preorder info to also follow.

Aforementioned cover art and CORRECT tracklisting are as follows:
Tracklisting for Children of Technology’s Written Destiny
1. Soundtrack of No Future [4:52]
2. Creation Through Destruction [3:07]
3. Written Destiny [2:41]

5. Desert City [4:12]

French speed metal cult Sacrifizer premiere new track

SACRIFIZER premiere new track at “Deaf Forever” magazine’s website – set release date for new DYING VICTIMS vinyl edition

Today, French speed metal cult Sacrifizer premiere the new track “Morbid Envenomation” . The track hails from the band’s debut mini-album, La Mort Triomphante, which is being released December 13th via Dying Victims Productions on vinyl LP format. Enhanced with the band’s 2018 demo and one new track, the infernal majesty of La Mort Triomphante has now been expanded into full-length format.

Hear Sacrifizer‘s “Morbid Envenomation” in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Originally released earlier this year on limited-edition CD and cassette, La Mort Triomphante was Sacrifizer‘s glorious burst from the underground. At five furious tracks and atmosphere-setting intro, La Mort Triomphante sounds much like its cover looks: icy yet fiery, galloping forward like evil invaders with a violent restitution. Indeed, Sacrifizer are 100% cult speed metal sewn from ancient Canadian cloth, but other fibers from ’80s France and Germany also comprise their patchwork of salacious speed and bestial devastation. Grounded in the more traditional end of speed metal, the quintet keep their songwriting focused and straightforward, maximizing hooks and never forgetting the eternal magick of a good guitar solo; even the production itself on La Mort Triomphante is era-authentic but never smacks of cheap retro-posturing. The same could be said for their debut demo, Night of the Razors, which is here amended to this special LP version. A bit more berzerker and dripping with diabolism, Sacrifizer early on indeed exuded some Morsüre vibes. “Morbid Envenomation,” the brand-new track exclusive to this vinyl LP, ends off the record with the band in full-on epic and EVIL mode, pointing the way toward Sacrifizer‘s inevitable debut album, which is bound to be a modern classic…soon!

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

1. Winds of Transylvania (Intro)
2. The Grave of Nosferatu
3. By Fist, Leather and Steel
4. Blackfire Wytch
