SEXMAG premiere new track, set release date for DYING VICTIMS debut mini-album

On October 22nd internationally, Dying Victims Productions will release SexMag’s striking debut mini-album, Sex Metal, on CD and 12” vinyl formats. And today, they drop the new track “Sex Metal.” Hear SexMag’s title track “Sex Metal” in its entirety here:

From the abyss of the filthy Silesian Streets emerges the Nasty Beast, just like in St. John’s Apocalypse. Three sixes branded at the top of his head, and the prophecy predicts eternal tribulation and condemnation to those who betrayed and wear shackles. Seven chaplets and 11 horns encrust his neck, and his hand holds the key to the world unblemished by the lie. The sign of Hell worships the beast in black and his servant…SexMag!

Drawing their moniker from Poland’s legendary Kat, SexMag arrive from the darkest past with a seven-track expurse of sodomy bearing the call-to-arms title of Sex Metal. Across the five primary curses and bookending intro and outro, the mysterious entity create a caustic and careening sound drawing equal strength from ‘80s proto-black metal and the vilest thrash. Names invoked include earliest Destruction, Sepultura, Venom, Tormentor, Sarcófago, Master’s Hammer, and Violent Force, but with a fear-for-their-safety identity all their own. Or, put another way, think of the most garaged old New Renaissance release left rotting in the sun and covered in black-candle wax…that is Sex Metal!

No more and no less, no trends and no compromise, posers leave the hall when SexMag fuck you with their Sex Metal!

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for SexMag’s Sex Metal
1. Intro
2. Zapomniany Czarci Kult
3. Sex Metal
4. Wysłannik Hadesu
5. Nagrobek Kurtyzany
6. Nałożnice Hrabiny

NEKROMANTHEON reveal video from upcoming release-rehearsal show for new HELLS HEADBANGERS / INDIE album

Today, old-metal standard-bearers Nekromantheon reveal a special live video track “Dead Temples – LIVE FROM THE CITY OF DIS.” The video is the first taste of their release-rehearsal show LIVE FROM THE CITY OF DIS: a full concert which will be out on YouTube and Facebook on May 8th at 3 pm EST.  The video is filmed and edited by Sanna Charles, and recorded and mixed by Arild M. Torp, and is yet another foretaste of the band’s highly anticipated third album, Visions of Trismegistos, set for North American release on April 30th Hells Headbangers on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats (Indie Recordings will be handling all other territories). See & hear Nekromantheon‘s “Dead Temples – LIVE FROM THE CITY OF DIS” in its entirety here:

Behold the Visions of Trismegistos! After nine long years stirring the cauldron in the underground, Nekromantheon finally re-emerged from the depths with their most ferocious record to date!

Visions of Trismegistos is a long-awaited metal assault, bringing forth the spirit of old metal once again. Recorded in Chaka Khan Studio and various locations around Oslo by the members of Nekromantheon themselves using mostly old, analog equipment to get that warm, genuine sound, Visions of Trismegistos feels like a lost opus from the glory days of the ’80s, when thrash, death, and black metal were merged into one unholy trinity. Yet, it is a fresh and vital testament of a band at the height of their abilities who stand out amongst their peers.

With Visions of Trismegistos, Nekromantheon are ready to resurrect the ways of the ancient with their fresh take on old-school extreme metal!

Nekromantheon started out in early 2005 with only one goal in mind: to play fast, evil, and dirty thrash metal in the way of the old gods. Influenced by the classics of Slayer, Sadus, Kreator, Dark Angel, and Sepultura, they unleashed their attack on modern metal.

After the release of the We’re Rotting EP in early 2007, the band had already built a name for themselves in the underground scene. As the band got more and more focused on capturing the spirit of the ’80s, guitarist Arild “Arse” Myren Torp and drummer Christian “Kick” Holm started building their own recording studio. Shortly, their very own KickArse Studio was ready in Kolbotn, Norway, the hometown of the mighty Darkthrone.

With their own creative pit available, their first full-length, Divinity of Death, was released shortly. This intense evocation of evil turned some heads indeed, and earned the band a spot at Maryland DeathFest 2010 and the highly prestigious yet extremely underground Live Evil Festival in London the same year.

In 2012, Nekromantheon released their second album, Rise, Vulcan Spectre, elevating the level of ferocious, darkened thrash metal to unknown heights. The release was an unholy offering to summon the old ways of metal, being held up to underground classics from the ’80s. It was an intense, analog-sounding record that showed no mercy. Rise, Vulcan Spectre was met with raving reviews and went on to receive a Grammy for Best Metal album 2012.

Nekromantheon, unaffected by the “success,” continued to play underground concerts and festivals that they deemed suited for their concept, and continued to keep a low profile throughout the years, playing selected shows and slowly working on new material. As the members were active and creative in bands like Obliteration, Black Viper, Flight, Deathhammer etc, and they have an extremely self-critical way of writing music within Nekromantheon, the follow-up record took years and years before it materialized. We believe Visions of Trismegistos is worth the wait.

In the meantime, see & hear the brand-new live video “Dead Temples – LIVE FROM THE CITY OF DIS” HERE at Nekromantheon‘s official YouTube channel. Also hear the previously revealed tracks “Dead Temples” HERE, “Thanatos” HERE, and “The Visions of Trismegistos” HERE. GODSLAVE set release date for new METALVILLE album, reveal cover & tracklisting

Today, Metalville Records announces July 23rd as the international release date for Godslave‘s highly anticipated sixth album, Positive Aggressive, the band’s debut for the label.

Positive Aggressive is an album with a clear concept and a perfect symbiosis of music and message: catchy melodies and thrashing thrash metal on the one hand and inspiring lyrics that let you look deep into your soul on the other. One thing is clear: no thrash metal without aggression!

But Godslave ask the listener the all-important question: what do you do with the energy released by the aggression? Do you just want to destroy everything out of anger, or do you also want to build something new?

Godslave have made this decision: From opener “How About NO?” to closer “Final Chapters First,” every single song is a vehement statement for getting yourself in control.

Lyricist Bernie deliberately talks openly about his inner struggles – not only to cope with situations himself, but also to encourage others to take their fate into their own hands. Because no one will do it for you: It’s your life; it’s your decision!

On Positive AggressiveGodslave have revived old traditions and, in a time when real contacts are hardly possible, remembered the relationships with the people on the road who became part of the family from one moment to the next.

So the fans can look forward to two guest contributions in particular: On the one hand, Britta Görtz from Critical Mess has contributed distinctive backing vocals on “How about NO?” In addition, the guest solo by Damir Eskic closes the circle of a friendship with Destruction that has already lasted 10 years.

First single to be revealed shortly. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

BUNKER 66 premiere new track, set release date for new DYING VICTIMS album

On April 30th internationally, Dying Victims Productions will release Bunker 66’s highly anticipated fourth album, Beyond the Help of Prayers, on CD and vinyl LP formats. And today, we reveal the new track “To the Gates of Death / Lair of the Profaner.” Hear Bunker 66‘s “To the Gates of Death / Lair of the Profaner” in its entirety here:

Since 2007, Italy’s Bunker 66 have been proudly (and prolifically) flying the flag of ‘80s metalpunk, all in the beloved power-trio format. Of course, the joint influence of Motörhead and Venom looms large, but equally so do homeland heroes Bulldozer, the UK’s Warfare, early Running Wild, early Bathory and Slayer, later Anti-Cimex, metal-era Gang Green, and any ‘80s recordings from Discharge and Exciter. With this robust and rust-covered foundation firmly in place, Bunker 66 recorded a trio of cult albums for High Roller Records as well as a grip of splits with the likes of Italy’s Barbarian and Morbo, Brazil’s Whipstriker, and most recently Scotland’s Vuil. Simply put, they’re a cult band for cult fanatics – and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Now, a couple years on from that last-mentioned split with Vuil comes Bunker 66’s long-awaited fourth album, Beyond the Help of Prayers. The band’s first full-length in four years and second with the lineup of co-founders vocalist/bassist Damien Thorne and drummer Dee Dee Altar alongside ex-Schizo guitarist J.J. Priestkiller, Beyond the Help of Prayers is a refreshing blast of old air! Right from the opening, galloping minutes of “To the Gates of Death – Lair of the Profaner,” this is 666% Bunker 66 through and through – all those above influences, all sliced and diced with the deft touch of devotees, but always brimming with a charisma that’s undeniable – and thereafter do the hits keep on coming. But, while one could say that Beyond the Help of Prayers is business as usual for the band (and we’d still love it), the album sees Bunker 66 taking on subtly more epic touches, ones that feel almost swords & sorcery without being obvious about it, or perhaps the post-apocalyptic wasteland vibes of Dee Dee Altar’s time in Children of Technology played a significant role? Naturally, the trio keep their noses deep within their realms of the black here, and while they’re undoubtedly dirtier and more blasphemous than ever, Bunker 66 arguably receive their best-sounding production on Beyond the Help of Prayers, which thankfully only maximizes their power that much more.

You can’t teach old dogs new tricks, and the same be said – STUNNINGLY – for Bunker 66, for they’re Beyond the Help of Prayers!

Cover and tracklisting as follows:

Thrash outfit INSANITY ALERT are the kind of people who know what to bring to a party: a big dose of humour with a dash of darkness, party tunes, and a six pack. It’s these ingredients that make up the basis of the band’s third full length record, ‘666-pack’.

The world of INSANITY ALERT is a dark yet happy place. Fast, aggressive music, crazy lyrics about alcohol, rage, weed, ignorance and hate, all drenched in an 80’s hot sauce but played with a 2019 attitude. The band emerged from the Austrian city of Innsbruck in 2011, with only one intent: deliver crushing, crossover party thrash.

A tongue-in-cheek concept backed up by strong musical prowess worked out extremely well as ‘First Diagnosis’ proved in 2012. This demo was welcomed with open arms and the first impression of the public quickly confirmed by ‘Second Opinion’, which came out the year after. In 2014, debut album, ‘Insanity Alert’ delighted critics and fans alike and was reissued four years later by Season of Mist. The wild Tyrolians, always eager to please, next served a juicy ‘Moshburger’ (2016).

With ‘666-pack’ the band proves once more to be an unstoppable force. Whether it is dropping a to-the-point, crossover track such as “The Body Of The Christ is The Parasite” or INSANITY ALERT-esque interpretations of classics like “Saturday Grind Fever”, the groove will have you headbanging in no time with a smirk on your face. Having confirmed their first festivals for 2019 and riding the wave of the thrash metal revival, INSANITY ALERT can’t wait to return to the stage and share (a) 666-pack with you!

French speed metal cult Sacrifizer premiere new track

SACRIFIZER premiere new track at “Deaf Forever” magazine’s website – set release date for new DYING VICTIMS vinyl edition

Today, French speed metal cult Sacrifizer premiere the new track “Morbid Envenomation” . The track hails from the band’s debut mini-album, La Mort Triomphante, which is being released December 13th via Dying Victims Productions on vinyl LP format. Enhanced with the band’s 2018 demo and one new track, the infernal majesty of La Mort Triomphante has now been expanded into full-length format.

Hear Sacrifizer‘s “Morbid Envenomation” in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Originally released earlier this year on limited-edition CD and cassette, La Mort Triomphante was Sacrifizer‘s glorious burst from the underground. At five furious tracks and atmosphere-setting intro, La Mort Triomphante sounds much like its cover looks: icy yet fiery, galloping forward like evil invaders with a violent restitution. Indeed, Sacrifizer are 100% cult speed metal sewn from ancient Canadian cloth, but other fibers from ’80s France and Germany also comprise their patchwork of salacious speed and bestial devastation. Grounded in the more traditional end of speed metal, the quintet keep their songwriting focused and straightforward, maximizing hooks and never forgetting the eternal magick of a good guitar solo; even the production itself on La Mort Triomphante is era-authentic but never smacks of cheap retro-posturing. The same could be said for their debut demo, Night of the Razors, which is here amended to this special LP version. A bit more berzerker and dripping with diabolism, Sacrifizer early on indeed exuded some Morsüre vibes. “Morbid Envenomation,” the brand-new track exclusive to this vinyl LP, ends off the record with the band in full-on epic and EVIL mode, pointing the way toward Sacrifizer‘s inevitable debut album, which is bound to be a modern classic…soon!

Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
Tracklisting for Sacrifizer’s La Mort Triomphante
1. Winds of Transylvania (Intro)
2. The Grave of Nosferatu
3. By Fist, Leather and Steel
4. Blackfire Wytch

Interview with Power Trip The New Kings of Thrash

* First off congratulations on the amazing chart success you guys achieved with Nightmare Logic. Were you surprised with all the chart placing’s that you got?
To be honest, I didn’t know we were on any charts! What charts are or were we on? That’s cool to be on any chart, I guess. Unless it’s like your hospital chart or something and you have cancer, that wouldn’t be a good chart to be on.

If you give a shit about your record then it takes a very high level of focus to sit and write the songs

* It’s been 4 years between Manifest Decimation and your newly released “Nightmare Logic” – why the big gap? what was going on?
We were touring the entire time. If you give a shit about your record then it takes a very high level of focus to sit and write the songs, so we needed time dedicated to where all we could do was eat, sleep, and write the songs. So we had a lot of tours and life just going on, it took us about 3 years after Manifest was released to start writing again.

* This is your 2nd record with Arthur Rizk right? What would you say are the biggest differences in what you guys did on Nightmare Logic to Manifest Decimation?
We knew what we were doing this time around. We learned a lot, recording MD. For me and Blake, it was our first LP we’d ever worked on. It was a huge learning experience. So since then, Arthur has been producing records and he’s only getting better at his craft. We wanted to “trim the fat” from the songs, and making sure this record was like a polished circular buzzsaw. strong and clean in the center of it, but still rough and razor sharp around the edges. Personally, I was a better vocalist now. We were wiser and older and knew what we wanted to improve on from the last record, and i think we accomplished that.

* This is your 2nd album with Southern Lord right? How did you come about getting signed to such a legendary label?
Greg Anderson, founder/owner of SL had heard of us through a friend. He checked out the music we had, we had just released the self-titled 7”, he liked it and wanted to sign us. So we said yes. It was really very simple.

* Even though you guys are all relatively young I’m hearing some classic metal/hardcore influences in your songs? How did you guys get into such old school bands as your influences?
There’s very few good modern bands our there that really excite us. We don’t think very many modern thrash or metal bands are doing a very good job, so we’re writing songs we want to hear. I don’t consider us young though. We’ve been a band for almost 10 years, and I’m 31. Our youngest member is 26. So most of us are 80’s babies, and I can remember growing up with hearing bands like metallica, sepultura, napalm death, slayer, anthrax, etc… I had a neighborhood friend, and he had an older brother who listened to lots of punk and metal bands so that was probably my first real introduction into the harder underground, and it’s stuck with me ever since.

* Can you give us a brief history of how the band came about for those readers who may not be familiar with Power Trip?
We came together in February, 2008. Blake heard I was wanting to start a heavy NYHC influenced crossover style band, and he hit me up to jam. I didn’t really know him, and he was really young in comparison – I was 22, he was 16 – so I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. His parents lived in the same suburb as my parents, so one weekend when I came to visit from college, we got together and wrote pretty much the whole demo in that first session. That was the spark.

* Seems like every time I turn around you guys are on another tour – what’s been the best tour you have played so far?
Hard to say, there’s been so many good ones, but I think I would pick our recent headliner that we did in support of Nightmare Logic. Every single show was great, not one bad one. For every city we played, it was the best show we had performed in that city before. It was our first time headlining a tour off of a record we just released, to be doing that whole thing for the first time felt really great. It was exhausting, but it was the best reactions we’ve ever had, everywhere we went.

What happens in the van, stays in the van, man

* Any crazy tour stories yet? They say you experience more one year on the road then the average person does in their lifetime.
What happens in the van, stays in the van, man. I will say this: I do want to one day write a book, or a comic book, or a movie, or anything that’s a comprehensive, accurate portrayal of touring. I just want to get all my friends together, tell tour stories for hours, and then we construct a narrative around that. It would be so easy to write, and if you layout the premise well enough, you could do sequels because you’d have so much material, so many stories.

* Touring with bands like Iron Reagan and Napalm Death you must learn a lot – what’s the one bit of advice that you would give yourselves from 2011 if you could go back in time?
2011? It would have been to work harder at MD. I would have given ourselves advice on recording. I don’t think we put out a bad record, but looking back there’s a lot of things I would change.

We always have a great time in Springfield, Missouri

* You guys have any favorite tour towns yet? I know some bands prefer to play places like say South Dakota over NYC as the fans are so appreciative that you made the trip out to play for them, unlike say a “jaded” NYC audience.
I really love Texas still. Texas is #1. I really like playing NYC, the two times we went to Russia, Moscow and St. Petersburg, have been incredible. I’ve really liked our shows in Finland and most of the UK. Toronto and Boston are both really good to us. LA and SF, too. In relation to the South Dakota vs NYC thing, we always have a great time in Springfield, Missouri. The shows aren’t huge, but the kids are just so awesome and energetic that it doesn’t matter.

* How’s the local Dallas scene these days? Are their many bands playing old school Thrash like you guys there? (For some reason I imagine you guys probably still have some nu metal bands knocking about the local scene…)
To my knowledge there really isn’t any other bands from our area trying to do the thrash/crossover thing, but I’m also not too strongly in touch with the modern scene around here. I do like this band called Creeping Death. They’re kind of like us, in that they started as a hardcore band with metal influences, and now have morphed into a full on metal band. But their style is straight up death metal.

South America, Australia, Japan… I want to go anywhere that’ll have us

* Any countries on your wish list of places to play that you haven’t played yet?
I really want to tour South America, Australia, Japan… I want to go anywhere that’ll have us. The world is both big and small and there’s still so much to see.

* What can we expect from Power Trip for the rest of 2017?
Business as usual – just touring, touring, touring

* Any final words?
