TEUFELSBERG stream new SIGNAL REX album

Today, Polish black metallers Teufelsberg stream the entirety of their highly anticipated second album, Pakt mit dem Teufel. Set for international release on October 31st via Signal Rex, hear Teufelsberg‘s Pakt mit dem Teufel in its entirety here:

Since their ascent from time’s abyss in with the public debut with the 2020 demo Ancient Darkness Triumphant, Poland’s Teufelsberg have stood against the modern world – and namely, the modern “black metal underground.” Using their noble Polish roots as an unshakable aesthetic foundation, the horde lit fires for the olden days with each successive recording, culminating in both a covenant with Signal Rex and their debut album, Ordre du Diable, during the early half of 2022.

Keeping those fires blazing brightly and blacker than ever, Teufelsberg return their second full-length strike, Pakt mit dem Teufel. As cold and grim as ever, the band here spelunk among corridors rich in the treasures of pre-internet black metal, integrating not only their ancient Polish idiom but also contemporaneous Nordic and Hellenic ones. In a sense, there’s a sense of deja vuinitially, as the deeper one dives among Teufelsberg‘s treasures, the more those jewels shimmer in a manner uniquely the band’s own. As ever, the horde’s raw-yet-clear tones and attendant execution are superlative for their defiance against prevailing trends, and the full might of their mysticism is surely felt every second of this six-song/38-minute album.

Pakt mit dem Teufel was signed in blood somewhere in Poland during the full moon in 2022,” the band declare. “Teufelsberg continues to follow the path of Unholy Black Metal. The funeral bell carries its song bathed in moonlight. It calls impure souls to the top of the Devil’s Mountain, calls to make a pact and worship HIM.”

TEUFELSBERG stream SIGNAL REX debut album

Today, Polish black metallers Teufelsberg stream the entirety of their highly anticipated debut album, Ordre du Diable. Set for international release on April 30th via Signal Rex, hear Teufelsberg‘s Ordre du Diable in its entirety here:

Hailing from Poland and making their public debut with the demo Ancient Darkness Triumphant in 2020, Teufelsberg are a band out of time. The modern “black metal underground” is a vacant void to be shunned, spit upon; for the duo, the elder ways of black metal militancy reflected in the Polish underground during the glorious ’90s are to be proudly upheld. And upheld they did with a successive split with comrades Minnesjord last year, once again through the auspices of Signal Rex, in the process building their own dead Christ commune.

And now, Teufelsberg fortify it further with their full-length debut, Ordre du Diable. No great changes have been made, thankfully – cold and grim is their march, rendered in raw-yet-clear tones that remarkably retain an era-authentic vibe – but the now-trio’s songwriting has undoubtedly advanced, moving at many speeds and effortlessly evincing a focus that’s fiery and finessed in equal measure. Further, their integration of synths is subtle and tasteful, coloring Ordre du Diable in rich hues of velvety purple emanating from deepest black. More simply stated, Teufelsberg deliver a record that could’ve easily come out in 1995: that same mysticism is alive and well here, and DEAD.

Against the modern world, torches raised aloft, Teufelsberg are coming to a church near you with Ordre du Diable!

Preorder info can be found HERE at Signal Rex‘s Bandcamp. Cover artwork, courtesy of JRMR Artworks, and tracklisting are as follows:

MINNESJORD and TEUFELSBERG to release split album thru SIGNAL REX, reveal first tracks

On October 31st internationally, Signal Rex is proud to present a special split album between Minnesjord and TEUFELSBERG on vinyl LP format only.

Bringing together two of Signal Rex‘s newest but most imposing hordes, Minnesjord and TEUFELSBERG here present uncompromising black metal in utter defiance of nowadays’ “scene.” Hailing from the raw underground hotbed of Portugal, Minnesjord unleash four filthy screeds of pummeling minimalism. Undoubtedly, the spectre of Ildjarn’s pioneering works looms large still, but the duo wrangle an undeniable nastiness from the innermost gutters of their souls. Plus, the prominent, often-chorused anti-melodies favorably nod to old deathrock, further giving Minnesjord a dirty direction to explore, which is to say nothing of the hypnotic monster that is the nearly-nine-minute “Mavórcio.”

MINNESJORD

Much as Minnesjord have released one tape through the auspices of Signal Rex‘s brother label Harvest of Death, so far, Poland’s TEUFELSBERG have likewise released one demo through Signal Rex. Its title, Ancient Darkness Triumphant, says everything it needs to about this cult: proudly praising the elder ways of black metal militancy as it was reflected in the Polish underground during the glorious ’90s. TEUFELSBERG continue that noble march here on this split LP, disregarding – and spitting disgust towards – modern iterations of “black metal.” Cold, hateful, and unholy, their three tracks here are simply BLACK METAL because they don’t need to be anything else; not everything goes, and so it goes with Teuefelsberg. The duo build their own dead Christ commune, and here fortify it further.

In the meantime, hear the brand-new track “Opróbrio” from Minnesjord here:
